  1. Going from Hitch as I'm not sure they've made a Will Smith biopic yet: High Noon
  2. Woody once again shows that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Prior to agreeing to the ground share with Windsor, Slough had reached an agreement with Harrow to play there for £8,000 per season and a payment had already been made to secure the pitch for the first year. It was only when the fans objected to Harrow that more local and expensive option was found. Slough only agreed to return to Slag Meadow this season after detailed assurances from Peter Simpson about the improvements that would be made to the pitch and a restriction on the use of the pitch for training and youth matc
  3. Zoom, the replies on this messageboard have never been a particular problem. But why if we criticise the pitch do you have to revert to name calling? It is other incidents I have heard about and witnessed first hand that I was referring to. This "banter" about the pitch is what you would expect from a landlord/tenant football club relationship. Your entitled to your views and we are just as entitled to ours. If Mal has a problem with our critical posts he can remove them. Bare in mind that Woody really started this debate by referring to it as a "joke" himself. Above all stop fe
  4. Chels - it is the fact that we ground share that makes this thread of interest to both sets of fans. I think it is the disgraceful behaviour and lack of intelligence of some Windsor fans that give the rest of your club a bad name. Windsor Sec - I actually do feel sorry for you (Windsor) on this issue. Efforts were made improve the pitch over the close season and you have now been scuppered by the weather which is causing different problems. However, the work on the pitch started too late and it doesn't take a genius to know that we are going to be having wetter and milder winters from now
  5. It is true and she is a decent player. Plays for Slough Ladies and brought great cheers from the Farnbrough lot with a crunching tackle on their left winger when we played them earlier in the season. Left him rather embarassed I think. I'll have words with my lot and e-mail you soon.

  7. I know this is a little way off but it often takes me a while to get my lot sorted - there was mention earlier in the season of a supporters match against you lot when we are suppossed to be playing East Thurrock on the 24th February 2007. Obviously we would need to play over where you play your home games and leave ourselves enough time to get over to East Thurrock. You still up for that?
  8. Widnsor Sec - I agree with you about Maidenhead. I work in Maidenhead and I know that a drop of rain sees their pitched waterlogged. It was the only reservation I had about going there when it was discussed in the close season. I never said that we had trouble rearranging the games the problem is that between us we probably have over twenty more home games to arrange between now and the end of the season. With only three and half months to go and with a wet and mild winter and spring to come the problems may get worse and postponements continue. Let's hope for both clubs that is not the c
  9. He's only quoting your chairman for the start of the season. His words are really starting to sound pretty hollow. All these postponements are causing problems for both clubs. Are we both going to have to rearrange matches for elsewhere?
  10. Which must be helpful in the battle with Southend to avoid the wooden spoon in the Championship.

Oh good. So shall we call Saturday's off now?

    New Signings

Sec, you want to get yourself a precedent so that you don't need to do "five pages of writing" each time.
  13. I read about that and somehow thought it would be less bizarre. Great decision that. Should have tried that on Tuesday when one of the oppo's players called for our supporters to climb on the pitch to remove a ball.

    Ursell

A group of Slough fans saw him play for the England Futsal side last season in a double header against Finland. Two former Slough players were involved Glen Harris and Alex Haddow. He certainly seemed to have plenty of skill but never sure how well that transfers itself from five a side. He certainly did will for AFC at your level and it seems on paper an excellent and surprising signing. Got to wonder about his fitness though...
  15. What you mean the players don't all have imaging rights written into their contracts?
  16. Using my amazing powers of deduction I would hazard a guess that he has been offered a contract at Brentford.
