  1. Ah yes, forgot about Chertsey, that skews the figures a bit. I meant to say South&West when referring to Guildford City. And Chipstead are already safe. Completely new team since he took over.
  2. Was thinking about the promotions over recent years from CCL and how in general those teams do fine at Step 4. Thought I'd check the facts but happy to be corrected if wrong about anything. 2006/07 - Chipstead - never relegated since though flirted with relegation a few times - still in Ryman South 2007/08 - Merstham - finished 8th in Ryman South first season, then generally mid-table until play-off win a year ago, mid-table this season in Ryman Premier 2008/09 - Bedfont Green - disbanded whilst at Step 4 (money issues?) 2009/10 - North Greenford United - nearly relegated a few times and now looks like they will be back to Step 5 after 6 seasons 2010/11 - Chertsey - relegated back to Step 5 after a couple of seasons 2011/12 - Guildford City - struggled when pushed into Southern League and came back down to Step 5 where they remain 2012/13 - Egham - fine at Step 4 and this year in the play offs in Southern Central so could be Step 3 next season - Guernsey (two up this season) - competed fine at Step 4 level where they remain 2013/14 - South Park - two decent seasons now at Step 4 2014/15 - Molesey - look like finishing top half of Ryman South in first year back there So, out of 9 promoted teams, three relegations and one disbanded. One (possibly soon two) team at Step 3. Overall, I'd say that's a good success rate. I'd say any of the teams that could've gone up this season would be fine as well whoever it ends up being.

    Midweek 11th-14th April CCL Matches

It's four this season and they just at the top of that zone, some points gap but with games in hand so anything could happen there.

    Midweek 11th-14th April CCL Matches

Projections are of course just guesswork and with the FA, it can be a futile exercise I admit but there are ways that three CCL1 clubs could be promoted even with several clubs dropping down into the CCLP. And the rumour is that Step 3 leagues will relegate six next season to get back down to 22. This could cause changes further down the pyramid of course.

Doesn't work like that. The CCL1 clubs will still get promoted to Step 5 if eligible but they or other teams could be pushed sideways by the FALC. So for example, current projections have AFC Hayes and North Greenford being in SSM league not CCL.

CCL Match Thread - Tuesday 1st March

Redhill 0-1 Guildford City Poor game first half on boggy pitch though fair play that they got in on. Second half, City much the better side and deserved the late winner.

    Ground grading

Rich, you can have three-sided grounds at Step 3, maybe higher but not looked at those grades recently. Permanent boundary and two turnstiles are certainly required for an E. I was assuming Hartley would go Central and my view was based on seeing a fair few games at that level. There's a lot of poor sides at Step 4.

F.A. Vase - devalued or not?

I'm torn on this issue at least for a season we might not yet again have a Northern League winner. Still Morpeth though....

    Ground grading

I think if they get the grading that Hartley would survive fine in the Southern League. What DO they still need? It's been a few years since I went there.

    Farnborough FC

Watched them today against Merstham. They've apparently signed a lot of players on loan in recent weeks to get them out of trouble but not sure it will be enough on what I saw. Look out CCL, here they come!

    Saturday 23rd January Match Thread

I seem to be bad luck for CCL sides in the Vase this season as after seeing Knaphill last weekend, I went to Bowers & Pitsea v SCR today. SCR I thought had the better of the first half but the terrible pitch made it a leveller and Bowers scored three in the second half. Don't worry Hartley/Camberley, I won't be coming down for you games next week!

    FA Vase Draw

When is the Bowers/SCR tie re-arranged for? Next weekend?

    Dorking F.C. - Another £500,000.

Very generous offer by Marc especially considering how the people running Dorking FC used to act toward Wanderers. What a gent.

    Saturday 16th January Match Thread

Saw Knaphill at Kidlington today. Feisty full-bloodied cup tie that ended 3-2 to Kidlington. Knaphill gave the first goal away (bad free kick by keeper) and allowed easy header for 2nd. HT 2-0. Second half was all Knaphill but they could only pull one back (through impressive nippy sub that Johno wanted on earlier) before the 90. Kidy broke and made it 3-1 in stoppage time but the Knappers didn't give up and scored another from a scrambled corner in the final minute of the 95. Unlucky for Knaphill but I think Kidlington JUST deserved it overall. Good game though.
