cup of tea got a reaction from blackballed in De ja vu
Not going to comment on everything above but there’s two points I would make.
Firstly Colin saved this club - for those of us that can remember that state of the club he inherited and where we are today , Colin (and Jimmy et al.) were and have been miracle workers. Not always seen eye to eye with Colin but if anyone doubts the commitment and effort he has shown to this club over a long period of time I’m happy to discuss in person anything about that. That’s why he’s got a stand named after him.
Secondly, Alex has been amazing for this club and after his personal efforts towards Hornchurch particularly over the last couple of years, I was hoping that this was going to be rewarded with a promotion but it just feels the problems were on the pitch rather than off it. I don’t for one minute question the commitment of the players but there’s clearly something wrong there.

Can’t say I’ve ever handed out wages so another lie you have spouted about. Every fan is entitled to their opinion whether it’s good or bad especially ones who go every week and work their bollocks off for the club merely for the love of the football club. FYI I’ve also done it to their faces and not just on here like you. When I was physio for the club for a few games as there was nobody else to do it and I was the most qualified to HELP OUT. By the way I also did that for free!
We all know who you’re so maybe if you’d like to volunteer next season and help out rather than getting in for free every game you’re more than welcome too.
I could say a whole lot more but i’ll keep quiet. Can’t post comment on yesterdays game as I only got to see the last 10 minutes along with 4 or 5 others due to volunteering on the gate and stopping people from jumping over the gate and causing a disturbance outside booting the doors of the turnstiles. Did I mention we did all that for free?
Thanks for your input 👍

Apparently you’re not allowed to be negative on here, everyone is allowed an opinion. Stimson is lucky that the owners are good to him because at other clubs he would be under real pressure. Don’t get giving him a contract extension mid season though, why not wait until the end of the season. We can’t do anything about it now, Shamefully it will be Hashtag next season. Sometimes as a club you need to be ruthless, no time for sentimentality, it’s how you progress.

You can't blame the awful ref on the capitulation of the second half of the season, how many times did we throw leads away? the mentality/back bone of the squad wasn't strong enough it's plain to see - as soon as soon as we go under the cosh we crumble and again the stats back this up, it's not me making it up or having a moan about Stimson. What do you mean 'why have we never back Stimo and the boys?' we have a great set of supporters who back the team home and away

No one is taking anything away from the club, player or Stimmo for that matter regarding the FA Trophy, for that run and day out I will be forever grateful. Having been up and down the country and around Essex in the ESL I could never had imagined Hornchurch Football Club playing at Wembley let alone winning.
There a large number of passionate supporters over the clubs that have dedicated a lot or time, hard work and graft for many years that are entitled to have an opinion so apologies if it doesn't match yours.
Fully aware Mickey covered for Remi and he has done a great job there for us, however Mickey is a superb right back and when Remi was back we persisted with playing him at left wing back. Why?
Can you not see the frustration though given the position we were in? we had 4 games in hand, we are not entitled to anything but to be in that position and end up not going up is very hard to take.
I am not knocking the players, you cant fault their commitment at all and you could see that at the end they were gutted as are we as supporters.
Why is it that at Non League level a manager is not allowed to take some level of responsibility for the outcome of the season?
Alex has been incredible and we are extremely fortunate to have him at our football club and i really hope he sticks around.
As Kimble said if it wasn't for McBride in the past I don't think we would have a football club to support right now given what others tried to do to us.
Also feel a shoutout is required to all volunteers throughout the club form the supporters club to Little Tel as they sacrifice their experience on days like yesterday to ensure it goes off ok for everyone else.

We were poor today, but we've been poor for 2-3 months now and during that time have just resorted to launching aimless balls from the back up to the strikers.
We struggled at the end against Cray because they were fitter and more mobile. We couldn't change the way we played then because we had no options on the bench - no Muldoon to step into midfield to replace the tiring Christou/Spence and no Ola to give us different options running wide.
So, this time around, what do we do. Either through stubbornness, arrogance or total ineptitude we put out exactly the same 16, showing we learnt nothing from the Cray game. We had no control in today's game and our only tactic again was to launch hopeless balls forward and hope something dropped for us. It didn't. And yet again, when we needed to change the approach we couldn't, because we had no options available to make that change.
It's the chairman, vice chair and directors I feel so sorry for - all the investment they've put into this club yet they have to watch the management fail to deliver yet again through repeated bad decisions.

None of us can truly appreciate what goes on behind the scenes at all levels on and off the pitch to make Hornchurch the amazing club it is.
If we lived on the mainland we would be there week in, week out, home and away...but get over when we can and follow the match updates religiously, no matter where we are in the world.
I had the foresight a long time ago to book a contingency weekend over to London that would include the May Day just in case and here we are...see you all on Monday!

Thank you Jordan, most of our regular supporters know how hard you and the rest of our volunteers work and how much of your free time is filled with this work. It's easy to sit back and criticise from an armchair.

All I ever see on social media when Hornchurch get a big game is people moaning , criticising, whinging. What I never see anytime as anyone saying thank you to all the helpers who:-
give up hours and I mean hours of free time at times like this. It’s not uncommon at times to be early hours of the morning. After all they have day jobs
every home game probably do not see half the game sometimes none of the game so people can enjoy the experience at Hornchurch. Most of them are there at 10am doing all sorts of things cleaning toilets, making players food , sweeping up rubbish the list goes on
Its easy to stand back and criticise, but if they offered to help and see what they do I think these people would be less critical
So from a Chin from afar who can’t be there I thank you all , and hope every fan enjoys the day, supports the team and the team goes up.

I've kept quiet but there is a couple of things that need to be explained as I'm quite frankly offended about the accusations that we not a family club.
Firstly, due to incredible tight turnaround between games, it was impossible to produce match-coded tickets which could not be fraudently replicated. This is a different print process that a programme for instance as we would need at least 2-3 working days to sort this. Therefore we have utilised our online ticket office to carry out the sales. As it rare for us to go all ticket, we do not have any history of who has attended most matches this season as most people pay by cash/card. Therefore we cannot implement a 'loyalty points' scheme for the site.
Due to technical limitations, we were unable to produce a code for each HFCSA member to enter the site in a priority window. However, this is something I will look into in the future to see if this can be made possible. In addition, we do not have the contact details of each SA member which would have also made it tricker.
In regards about not announcing a notice of when they were due to go on sale. Last season we provided a time and date for the tickets to go live on the portal and we sold 500 tickets in the space of 2 minutes, which is frankly insane. Therefore we thought it would be better to not announce a time so there was not everyone queueing up and a higher chance of our regular fans getting tickets.
The announcement time of 9pm last night was after a day of negotiations with Aveley and the league. We decided this would be a time which would not have heavy traffic online for non-regular supporters. We were very, very surprised at the speed of which these tickets sold. Last season, the initial batch of tickets (1000) was sold over 24 hours. This turned into more being sold this time around in 25 minutes. This season we also limited it to 4 tickets per address, whereas last season this was up to 12 in the initial sale.
If you see any touts, please contact us on hfcsa@hornchurchfc.com or enquiries@hornchurchfc.com and we will investigate. If any tickets is being sold fraudently, we will look to cancel the tickets via the QR code system.
The growth of the club in the past few years has been learning curve for all of us at the club and on the HFCSA committee. We are learning as we go and we admit we have made mistakes along the way. We will always strive to do better in the future but please do not shout out the volunteers. We are trying our best and not trying to upset people.
There has been significant planning which has gone into Monday's match and we hope it will be a great day.
In regards to streaming, we are speaking to the league and Aveley as you need approval from both.
I can only apologise to any supporters who did not get a ticket. If you could contact me directly on hfcsa@hornchurchfc.com if you want to discuss further.
Kind Regards,
Jordan
HFCSA Chairman.

I wish that you could see the time and effort that the Club officials and volunteers have put into ensuring that as many of our regular fans could obtain tickets for the Trophy Final and both Play Off finals as possible.
I disagree that the Trophy Final allocation was messed up, but that was largely in our control once the FA had allocated the number of tickets. I think the Club and Supporters Association did all they could to ensure regulars got tickets.
With Monday's match there are many more factors in play. The League, opposition, ticketing system provider and turnaround time between qualifying and the game itself all need to be taken into consideration. Demand is always going to outstrip demand in these situations, but I can assure you the Club and Supporters Association are doing all they can for the loyal supporters. To suggest otherwise is wrong

If only it was that easy, the club didn't know they were in the final until late Wednesday and with the final the following Monday, it's almost impossible to keep everyone happy.

Well done to the players and staff, and us supporters for making it through to the play-off final. It was definitely a topsy-turvy game.
I stood with the Cray fans in the second half with friend of mine. The amount of abuse the linesman on our side got, from mainly middle-aged men was frankly disgusting. Firstly they thought our first goal was offside. They couldn't possibly have known this as they were up the other end of the ground when it went in, but someone told them as they walked around the ground that it was 'a mile off'. Clearly it wasn't. Then before we scored our second they believed they should have had a corner - Joe took goal the kick and Nashy scored. Therefore they blamed the linesman for a decision that the referee had already effectively made. Up until they got back into the game the linesman was to blame for losing them the game - the abuse was pretty relentless every time he got near them.
What they didn't realise was that my friend was the linesman's father. His son is 22 and to be appointed to run the line at a game like that is quite an achievement - I think he's ranked as one of the top 100 young linesmen in the country. I looked at him as the abuse rained down on his son and there was a bit of a smile on his face - he knows that his son is mentally tough, is clearly going to officiate in some capacity at a much higher level and that he will get far worse abuse at bigger grounds and with bigger crowds. I was quite impressed at how he kept his cool. I don't think I could have kept that calm if it was my son - how would you have reacted ?
I really feel for everyone connected with Cray Wanderers. It's hard being so close to achieving something brilliant and knowing that you've got to start all over again and that you might not get another chance. Not so much for those few horrible supporters - they deserve every minute of that heartache and disappointment.
Sometimes it feels good to shout and swear at a linesman or a referee if you think they've made a wrong decision - I understand it and I've done it so many times. They accept it's going to happen and most of them, bizarrely, enjoy it. I don't think I've ever gone as far as those few Cray fans did though.
I hope as fans of a great club we can show a little more awareness and respect than they did.

I’m a broken man, nerves are shattered. Cray were the form team left in the playoffs and it showed. But at the end of the day our guys came through it, were never behind in the match and you would always want Chris Dickson taking the key pen. On to Monday with a shootout winner take all game against our local rivals
