  1. We have an FA Trophy replay on a 4G pitch tomorrow night (at Merthyr) so will let you know my views after that for what it's worth. Basically if we win they are great and if we lose they should be banned!
  2. Haha very much doubt that Johnno, two teams of shrinking violets!!
  3. If anyone is looking for a double fix of football on Boxing Day as we've all missed so many games recently then Godalming's game versus Guildford at Wey Court is kicking off at 3pm and we're expecting it to be on. As things stand it's 2nd vs 5th in the table and a local derby with a big crowd expected so should be a decent game. (Ok so maybe not strictly relevant to the title of this thread but it is two ex-CCL Premier sides so please forgive me for shamelessly trying to add a few to our gate! )
  4. Dorking Wanderers v Godalming is scheduled for Wednesday 16th January.
  5. Lakey is club skipper and took the armband recently when team skipper Adam Foulser was injured. See you tomorrow Kroons and don't worry I'll be bringing a toy! (not as dodgy as it sounds!)
  6. Yes Kroons it was Justin in goal. He did have a good game but to be honest (and without taking anything away from him) I reckon you could have played in goal for them and only conceded 1 goal as we hardly troubled him!
  7. Assume you mean Connor Close. He was in Woking's youth team last season and then did pre-season with us at Godalming where he trained well but went on holiday in July and missed a lot of our friendlies. We felt he needed experience of regular senior football which we weren't able to offer him at that time so put him Salv's way and from the reports we've had he's doing well.
  8. Nice part of the world, I got married there a few months ago! I'm Jon Underwood, joint manager at Godalming Town (along with Neil Baker who posts on here under his own name now and again). I was formerly in the CCL with Sandhurst (hence the name) as assistant manager to Pete Browning and then as 1st team manager for a couple of seasons. Still have lots of links to the CCL, watch games when I can and enjoy keeping an eye on this forum apart from when the faceless people come on here and talk ****!!
  9. Massive congrats to Sparky and his Badshot Lea boys, a terrific achievement. Best of luck with the draw today and in the next round.
  10. O'Toole has gone to Hayes & Yeading I believe. I know Burnham were trying to sign Chandiram, Ryan Parsons and one other but not sure if that has happened.
  11. Couldn't agree more. Trouble is there are too many clueless people running clubs at this level who make poor decisions, putting average managers in charge who then sign players on money that is crazy both for the level they are playing at and for the ability that they have. And this endless cycle goes on and on and no-one seems to learn from their mistakes or the mistakes of others. Can't believe some of the things I see/hear these days, the (CCL) world has gone crazy!
  12. Thanks GF. Gutted doesn't even begin to describe the feeling after going out on pens following 2 fantastic games against a very good Dulwich side. All the very best to both CCL sides in the next round but always thought the FA Trophy was the bigger competition anyway!
  13. Many congrats to Milesy and all at South Park, fantastic result!
  14. Not sure why Godalming is being mentioned as we don't know the lad! Wish him well at Sandhurst though.
  15. Thanks Tommo. To be fair, although we had several missing last night, all but 3 of those who played last night were part of our squad that reached the play-offs last season so all know each other very well. On the other hand you obviously have a lot of new players to take a look at who don't really know each other yet and that makes a real difference at this stage of pre-season. Best of luck for the season to you and everyone at Sandhurst.
  16. Sandhurst v Godalming is on (obviously!) on the 3G pitch by the Aldershot Military stadium, 7.30pm kick off, if anyone else's game is called off. Be good to meet Tommo.....and the ear plugs are already packed so I'm ready to share the touchline with Salv! ;o)
  17. Guildford destiny was known ages ago, but not too sure if Jon (Godalming) is too happy about moving especially after getting so close in the Rymans this season ? . Actually NG we're more than happy to be moving across to the Southern Central and looking forward to it. There are a few long trips in that league but not as many as in the Ryman South and we even thought at one point we'd be going to Southern South & West which would have been a nightmare for us so not complaining at all!
  18. Cheers Newbs, yeah we did well to get there. We thought we could cause a shock on the night with the momentum we had but they are a quality side and a draw on the night was probably fair.....then pens is a bit of a lottery obviously. Gutted to miss out but the lads have been fantastic and proud to be involved in one of the best games of non league football I've ever seen. No time to dwell on it though, planning already for next season! fair play always onwards an upwards mate i wish you all the best for the coming season !! Thanks mate same to you!

  20. Did you make it down in the end? If you didn't then you missed one hell of a game!
  21. Stag do in May, wedding and honeymoon in June.....all perfectly planned so back in time for pre-season!!
  22. Gutted for Matty as I know how keen he was to get fit and playing again after a frustrating season injury-wise. We at Godalming had only signed him on dual reg last week too. Wish him all the best and obviously same to the other lad too.
