  1. Guildford City will continue to do a paper programme for the forseeable future.
  2. Because they are relaying the track at the Spectrum! Work commenced on 26 July. We were told it would be finished by the beginning of October but work has seriously overrun. We are hoping we might be back for our home game on November 24th although the New Year is currently favourite amongst the bets being taken at the Club.
  3. Guildford City v Walton & Hersham off.
  4. Match report here. https://guildfordcityfc.co.uk/2017/03/16/guildford-city-1-woking-2-match-report
  5. Wednesday night at the Spectrum: Guildford City v Woking, kick-off 7.45pm. Admission £7 adults, £4 concessions, Unaccompanied Under 16s £1.
  6. Congratulations to everyone at HW. Superb result.
  7. Then it should be interesting when they play Hartley Wintney because I'm pretty sure I saw the champions elect last night. I can't remember seeing a quicker side all over the park in this league since I first started watching at this level in 1992. We weren't bad, they were much better.
  8. I can remember hearing the "Redhill" cry back in the late fifties when my dad started taking me to see Guildford City play at Joseph's Road. I can remember asking him why people were shouting this out whenever the ball was booted over the stands when we weren't even playing them and getting the explanation that Carthorse has given above. I seem to also remember there was something in the Daily Mirror about this in the sixties. I think there was something like "Ask the Old Codgers" when you could put odd questions to them and they would come up with the answer. I'm pretty sure the "Redhill" question came up there.
  9. Thanks for your kind wishes Duncs. I assure you I would never underestimate the strength of this League and the players in it. I've been around it a long time. Long enough to remember you in your pomp.
  10. You're quite right about our performance against the Baggies the other night Duncs but in their defence I would add that it was their fifth game in eleven days and, like on the previous Saturday, against Knaphill, they were absolutely drained. Just to clarify the success or failure of our present manager his League record is played 19, won 8, drawn 3, lost 8. His predecessor's record was played 19, won 4, drawn 1, lost 14. I don't think that is to shabby a performance and if we'd had him and his players from the start of the season, based on those results we'd have been safely in mid table. And we're not down yet!
  11. Guildford City v Horley Town match report here. http://guildfordcityfc.co.uk/2015/02/08/guildford-city-3-3-horley-town-match-report/
  12. It's a bit disingenuous of them to say they quit the league they should have been in. They resigned the season before.... http://www.ukfffc.co.uk/club/248797/News/view/834600
  13. Somebody suggested the ref wanted to go Christmas shopping in Guildford. I couldn't possibly comment.
  14. Today's match between Guildford City and Mole Valley is "Pay What You Like". All proceeds go to our partner charity Halow who support young people between the ages of 16 - 35 with learning difficulties. If you're coming along please give generously. See more about them here. http://www.halowproject.org.uk/
