Windsor 3 Flackwell Heath 4. Smashing game on the carpet with Flackwell being all over Windsor early on only for Windsor to take the lead. Flackwell equalised just before half time and went 3-1 up in the 2nd half. The usual raft of 2nd half subs actually opened the game up more and Windsor injected some pace with their subs and levelled only for Flackwell to score the winner with a goal that looked half a yard offside but the  assistant on the far side never flagged.
Competitive game played in a good spirit and both sides should more than hold their own in their respective leagues despite quite a few changes in each sides squad
Crowd of about 100 there and the usual friendly welcome from all at Windsor as well as the tasty cheeseburger made it a good night for a non league fan

No, I'm Yorkie Dave Weeble or Barnsley Dave on the TK site. Also been called other names which I couldn't possibly repeat on this family friendly forum :-)

No problem TM! I was meeting a friend that doesn't normally come up to the games otherwise I'd have probably stayed outside. He left after 70 minutes and couldn't believe how it had ended!

I rarely go in the boardroom as I can't be bothered with the niceties, although have no axe to grind with Bedfont Sports who are a nice bunch of people.

I agree he was poor on both sides. I also agree that the second penalty shout was probably borderline.

As for the first penalty, our full back, who is one of the more eloquent and sensible players in our team said it was nowhere near his hands and was perfectly positioned to block the header. He had never been sent off before while playing for us. Others have said that it hit him in the nuts. After the game a Bedfont supporter showed a pose of our player with his hands out in front of him, but why would you need to do this as the ball would obviously have hit his body and stayed out? It's not a natural position to stand in either.

Whilst I was at the other end so didn't get a great view, I believe our players on this one and seriously believe that the assistant was waiting for an opportunity to give something like this, which I know is a sad statement but that's how we feel right now. Our keeper was also fouled in the build up but that was never going to be spotted by this set of officials.

Whilst I can't argue about a draw I felt we had more of the chances and the Bedfont keeper was definitely the busier. He was also harshly booked by the official. Why is it these days that officials have to underline their own mistakes these days by issuing a card? If the ref had owned up to the fact that maybe he got one wrong from time to time he would get a great deal more respect from the players as a result.

Last season we had about three poor officials all season. This season we are way past that tally already. What is going on?

Please also note that the one league match we lost this year, against Chertsey, was well officiated so this is not a "moan about the ref because we are losing / dropping points etc." situation. I've already said that Hanworth were the most affected by Saturday's ref as were Chessington when they were robbed of a point at ours in the last minute. I could name other games too.

Tango Man got a reaction from E&E Rich in Tuesday 24th November On/Off
Hi Rich, I did see the 1st half but just thought it was a bit niggly with one or two poor decisions on both sides. I saw you going in the clubhouse with someone else at half time but a Bovril beckoned so sorry I didn't say hello
I knew nothing about the assistant calling one of your players a c..t and if he did he should be ashamed but I honestly thought he was poor for both sides. The Bedfont 8 could have had another penalty for the little tug just after your 3 got sent off for playing goalkeeper but think the ref got that right because he made a meal of it as he had earlier when he got booked for diving
No axe to grind with your players as I said you played some good stuff, with the tricky 11 catching the eye on his mazy runs. I thought a draw was a fair result and look forward to reading your report

Bedfont Sports 2 Epsom and Ewell 2
Well, where do you start with this !
Very even first half ended goalless with no hint of the drama to come
Epsom took the lead in the 2nd half with a looping header though the moaning had already started
Confusion reigned before Bedfont were awarded a penalty for handball on the line, the culprit being asked to leave the field, which was smashed into the net. They then went ahead with a good finish on the left with a couple of minutes to go only for Epsom to equalise in the 90th minute with a cross cum shot at which point the 10 for Epsom who'd been moaning throughout and had previously been booked for a poor challenge seemed to be shown a straight red presumably for opening his mouth once too often. Not content with being sent off he walked over to the assistant on the nearside and aimed abuse at him which the assistant reported to the ref as the 10 seemed very close to shoving him
Just a few observations from me if I may
I attended the game as a neutral though I was stood with the Bedfont captains dad who I know from my Ashford visits and must admit the ref wasn't the best.I can understand to a certain extent that frustration set in but if I did that at work I'd be shown the door and rightly so Having said that if a player made a mistake the ref didn't call him a fu..ing cheating pr..k . The moaning started on the Epsom bench and spread to most of their players which was a real shame as they played some decent stuff when football broke out. Yes I know Bedfont were pinching a few yards at throw ins but which team doesn't try it on ? The Epsom keeper was time wasting in the 2nd half but I didn't hear the Epsom bench shouting to the ref to hurry him along :-)
Still, at least it meant an interesting night and well worth the admittance money. Oh, and the cheeseburger was lovely

Camberley deserved to win in a game spoilt by an overfussy ref and standside linesman who snitched on quite a few of the players yesterday
As Rother says Windsor were outfought by a bigger stronger side but didn't help themselves at times with the histronics of Kane Jones the Windsor no 7. Goes down like he's shot then complains about everyone and everything before ripping his shirt of and running straight to the dressing room after being subbed early in the second half. Wise move from the Windsor bench as he would surely have been red carded before long. Shame as he's a decent player when his mind is right
Decent mix of play by the much maligned Camberley who did play long at times but at others passed the ball well, especially leading up to the equaliser
Friendly welcome, superb playing surface and a cracking cheese and bacon burger made for a decent night out though a slightly breezy one as we Yorkshire folk would call it. Nice to see Alan C at the game as well

It seems a bit of a strange situation at the moment. Website is poor with news and games to come missing. I understand it's down to volunteers but with something as important as this with people rightly concerned wheretheir money has gone you'd have thought someone woud have issued some sort of update

Keith, Bones had a thigh injury which ruled him out I think. Talking of former players I'm sure it was Richard Butler having his hair cut in my barbers in Egham the other day. Didn't want to approach him in case he fell to the floor dramatically appealing for a foul

Rhodes, I was there Tuesday and had no problems. The friendly lady said she'd give me a shout when my cheeseburger was ready which she did a couple of minutes later. Lovely it was as well
At half time I had a cuppa as did several others and there was no problem. People queued and chatted to each other catching up with the regulars that attend
Hanwell are a lovely club with proper football people. The clubhouse has had a lick of paint and Sky Sports news was on the telly
Steve aka Savage Bee took the time pre match to get teamsheets for supporters who wanted them
O.k. when they play the likes of Kettering it could get a bit busy in there but clubs like Hanwell do their best and I for one appreciate it

I was the fella . Tango Man, aka Barnsley Dave, who posted the original post about the speeding up of the service when Kettering arrive but he forgot to put the smiley at the end like I did
I've replied more fully on the Southern League forum but I'm getting a bit fed up of the constant sniping. He wasn't even there so no idea why he's having a pop. My comment was tongue in cheek as I know how hard people work at clubs such as Hanwell and appreciate the effort they put in

So - "please go to their forum to read more of my attempts to put the whole situation in a bad light". We get it, they spent a lot last year and finished 2nd, we know. It's incredibly easy to point that out now.

Tango Man's comments show that being a supporter means they'd still be there with a smile on their face even if they went down as part of the rebuilding process - great to see.

Good luck to Windsor - tough decision to go against the flow but attracting players with a decent set up/ethos/coaching staff minus the brown paper packet is possible.

GFC play for nothing - fact and I'd be suspicious if I didn't know and was a CCL fan but really they don't get paid a penny. They are in a very unique position and to draw any sort of comparison would be unfair but the reasons players play for them and commit so wholeheartedly are

    - no money changes hands anywhere in Guernsey so they have no option at another local club but to play for free
    - they are all very proud of the green shirt and everything that goes with it (this used to be the case if you played for your local senior side in the UK)
    - they get the best treatment outside the conference (great coaching, medical support, conditioning advice/programmes, masseur, playing, training and travelling kit)
    - they are literally inspiring future generations because of the interest in the team locally, and so the ego/self esteem gets a regular boost when they walk down the street (a responsibility they all take seriously but don't act like superstars because Guernsey just doesn't let anyone behave that way for long)
    - they are successful

I accept that there is a ceiling in terms of the pyramid where you simply couldn't go beyond if you didn't start paying players (maybe Step 4), though Guernsey's unique status and financial backing may prove me wrong.

So, if Windsor and any other non league club can tap into this way of doing it and consolidate where they are, football will be on it's way to rebuilding it's reputation when compared with other sports.

If you look hard enough, you'll find one non league club with over £1.5m of debt to one man - in the 4 years or so that it has taken to accumulate that debt, they have not been promoted once, so have stood still paying roughly 4 times what other clubs have paid as an overall budget to achieve the same position. I respect those in charge at that club as they give time and money to the game we all love but it is not a model that will work often, if at all.

One more point - maybe a half way house on this is to pay performance related pay at the end of each month or even season. Just a thought if you needed some carrot without paying out the thick end of 2k a week.
