Went to Ingrebourne Valley yesterday( monday 5/5/08)

Pretty horrible hour or so as the place was full of little scumbags on motor bikes and kids plastered and breakign things.I really fear for the future of this place unless the local council & police actually get hold of the reserve and do some thing with it.Which is a shame as some cracking birds have been recorded there but then again you tend to get these problems when you build a great big housing estate next to somehwere like that.Heres what i saw before i got fed up.

greylag & canada geese,3 grey heron,shelduck,6 gadwall,mallard,

sparrowhawk,kestrel,hobby,pheasant,moorhen,coot,lapwing,l,b b gull,herring gull,wood pigeon,collared dove,2 cuckoo,14 swift,swallow,g.s.woodpecker,green woodpecker,skylark,wren,blackbird,cettis warbler,sedge & reed warbler,lesser & common whitethroat,blue tit,great tit,magpie,jackdaw,carrion crow,starling,greenfinch & reed bunting

So as you can see the birds are there but unfortunatly so are the local scumbags, think i will stick to going over there in the mornings from now on

sorry dagger,i know its 3 months late but did you mean ingrebourne valley???

It is Hornchurch Country park, accessible from berwick pond road or station lane in hornchurch, going all the way down to the bend after the hospital, turning left and left at the end and in to a car park.

2 barn owls have been reported on the site in the last few days.
