In fairness, it's the away kit in white and black most of them have been talking about and we've worn exactly those colours as away shirts for much of the early Nineties.

A lot of the stuff on MYFC Forums is drivel (unlike this Forum),more often than not generated by the anxiety created by the excruciatingly long DD process.

BHP's DD on Rio Tinto was quicker!

For every 'crazy' idea there tends to be plenty countering them.

Regular MYFC posters on here are often the voices of reason on MYFC Forums.

I'm sure you'll find that the great majority of MYFC members (95% at least...don't ask me where I got the figure from)are football traditionalists and reasonably conservative by nature.

The main reason that most paid up, as far as I have read on their MYFC Forum intros, is a dissatisfaction with the heartless commercialism and attendant mercenary attitude prevalent at the top end of modern football.

That's where the voting process will see common sense prevail.

Explain something for me please.

In the US, kit (or as we would say "uniform") changes are quite common. No fan feels under any compulsion to buy a new shirt simply because a new one is being used. Some people do get new gear every year, but it is typically in addition to what they already have, and they plan to wear both old and new to matches. What's more, there is a certain cache in wearing the oldest, most out-of-date gear possible -- it marks one as a long-time fan or someone interested in the history of a club. In fact, lots of old designs are marketed as "throwback" gear and sold alongside the current design.

Does this not happen in the UK? Shouldn't longtime fans be proud to wear their "Austrian Airlines" stuff?

Just curious.

BTW, red and white for home, yellow for away, I think the vast majority of people would agree with that on both forums. Don't extrapolate from a few loose cannons.

Except they'd have been called something like Real Barcagoza or AC Milenzio. I recall Melchester once playing 'Everpool City and 'Grantchester United'.

And they'd be owned by an internet site Asian real estate mogul. smirk
