Conference relegation

Recommended Posts

Yeah, probably. This sort of thing has been done in the past, but usually Stafford Rangers or Leek town swapping between Unibond and Dr. Martens. I can't remember a case of a club being forced to switch to the Ryman League but I'm sure there are others who could enlighten us...

Braintree, Wealdstone and Gravesend switched from the Doc Martens(southern league) to the Ryman but I think they did this through their own choice rather than being forced into it.

I imagine Crawley, Chelmsford and possibly Welling could be in line for a switch to the Ryman.

Just a thought, but if Leigh, Nuneaton and Kettering all get relegated, surely none could come down into the Ryman? Would they move Chelmsford or Crawley into the Ryman instead?

keep up Rob, the conference has been increased to 24 clubs for nest season. There is only 1 relegation place now and I think Kettering have their name on it!

Not just yet I'm afraid Mr. Tarantula. Still requires ratification by the F.A.

From the FA National Leagues System Statement , 21st March 2003 -

In addition, The Football Conference today invoked an existing Football Conference regulation, requesting permission from The FA to increase its membership for season 2003/04 from 22 clubs to 24 clubs.

This proposal has today been sent to the 3 Feeder Leagues for their consideration and consultation, prior to a FA National Leagues Sanctions Committee meeting before the end of the current season.
