Anyone else see the shortlisted choices for this on the news today? A 50 metre high white horse (apparently in tribute to Horsa, the semi mythological leader of the Anglo Saxons who landed near Ebbsfleet on the Isle of Thanet in the 6th century!), a tower of cubes (with a light beam through the middle), a nest of steel latticework, a monumental wing & disc, and a craggy mountain topped by a life size interior cast of a house.

 

Whoever thought of these ideas must have strange ideas of what will attract people to the area!

A quote from the BBC News tonight aswell was "Ebbsfleet - theres nothing there yet" (or words to that effect) - I felt like reminding the reporter that there is a football club there, if nothing else!!

I'd go for the horse. I'm sure that'd be an interesting statue to see whilst drunk, a giant white horse.

The craggy mountain would probably present areal challenge when drunk - I'm sure there would be a few only too keen to prove to their mates they could climb it! I prefer the cubes with the light beam through it (although thats done by a French artist)

I like the cubes the most. If the light just hits it in the right angle it will look amazing.

 

My second choice would be Mount Doom.... Sorry I meant Craggy Mountain(That really has a Father Ted feel to it^^)
