Players of the Season!

What does the award presented look like because from memory the "Marching On" player of the season trophy (donated by the chap who does the programme) is still in the trophy cabinet, it is not this by any chance is it?

If it is not presumably the chap who does the programme could make an executive decision on his player of the year and present them with the "Marching On" trophy (I believe the current holder is Steve Clark and that the trophy was only awarded a couple of times, the Vickers or Robbie may have won it as well)

Hi mdet.

This "Marching On" PotS thing. Is that different from th Supporters Club Player of the Season?

[C.Hart. I think that you are a wonderful human being but please don't reply to this message.]

I would have thought so - it was last time I saw it a very large and quite heavy silver thing with handles (possibly blue and yellow ribbons) and a base that said "Marcing On" ("MO") PoS I believe.

Unless the chap who does the programme donated it to the supporters club I don't think they have been using that trophy.

The MO PoS has not been awarded since MO ceased publication, at the time there wasn't really an official Supporters Club ("SC") and probably no PoS award. The MO PoS was done as a ground wide vote and not just the readership (it was sold in New York!).

Therefore there may never have been an overlap and the MO PoS (which may have been the only PoS at the time) was replaced by the SC PoS (which is now offical).

My point was the MO PoS could be revived by decision of the chap who does the programme and be awarded as well as the SC PoS and all the others and therfore kick off could be delayed due to PoS presentations (unless of course the SC use the MO trophy)

Clear. Good.

As usual, the disclaimer is that the above may all be wrong.

I'll have a word with that Chairman of The Supporters Club chap. In my memory, the SC PotS award is a mighty impressive trophy with carved oak at the bottom, marble on top of that and a 24 carat gold figurine of a footballer on top, but I might be wrong.

He will also know the past and recent history of the MO cup.

I will also have a word with the chap who does the programme [not the chap who used to drive the red tractor or the chap who gets £50,000 a year for taking a piece of paper across the corridor one hour before kick-off, but the other one.]

It's probably rather short notice to present it to Simon now. Mind you. It sounds as though it will look quite striking on the dashboard of the web-sites Ferrari.

Just to clear things up - A gentleman from Safeway is going to be presenting Gary with his award on Saturday as they have been our overall sponsor all season.

I believe the goal of the season will be awarded in the bar after the game but I'm not 100% sure.

There was no rigging in the Supporter's Club vote as I tried my hardest to make sure poeple only voted once. It was very close with only 2 votes between 1st and 2nd.

Any more questions you would like answered? And no, you cant present Simon with the Ferrai C.Hart!

Miguel De Souza won the goal of the season against Sudbury.

I'm afraid to say Zeal that the goal you talk about only got one vote. Now I wonder who that could have been

Well done Helster.

Are we to know who came 2nd and 3rd in the Supporters Player of the Season thing?

Are you available to help with the web-site Player of the Season next year?
