They've got some fun in store for them there then.

We played away at York on August bank Holiday Monday, took 409 fans there and there weren't any problems. The biggest complaint there was the cost of things from the snack bar. Don't know if it helped but we took our own stewards there to steward us that York paid for.

Thought we didn't look like we were gonna score yesterday but hoped we could hang on for a point as we had a weakened team yesterday and the fact we have an FA Cup replay on Tuesday may have affected things.
Appreciate Ebbsfleet had to be segregate but why couldn't it have been segregated as far as the ladies toilets? The stewards did seem to treat us as suspicious also. I would question the police's justification for segregation for a league match when we only brought just over 100 fans?

We got on with your fans fine as we had a drink with a few of them in the Plough before and after the game.

I stand by my other comments though as I was one of the three elderly ladies who had to wait to be let through the gate for the toilet but acting as waitress for your fans whilst doing so---mean B's never even tipped me either even though I was serving them extreme discomfort.
I find it hard to conceive how fans are going to build up a rapport etc if segregation is in place as we get on well with fans from the grounds we have visited. One of the ladies has been going to away matches for 30 years and has stated she will not visit Ebbsfleet again which is a great shame.
Anyway I will wish you all the best for the rest of the season and your team deserved the win yesterday.

this is really a sad state of affairs i am so sorry i hope your friend changes her mind
earlier in the season when the fleet visited holker street i decided to take my mother who is over seventy for a few days break staying at the nearby travelodge.obviously she wanted to go the match.
arrived early and were met by the most friendly stewards you could imagine.within five minutes she asked where the toilets were .your toilets like the fleet are a bit to be desired for females.so i approached a steward and what he did do was escort her in the posh toilets in the building where the players come out.
see her smile on her return so pleased people were looking after her the barrow stewards were absolutely brilliant the best.
she often asks me when are you playing barrow next.
i do agree with segregation because you do have fans as do ebbsfleet which can be make the match uncomfortable
the stewards have a job to keep the young ones in check.but for you and your friends to be treated like this is a bloody disgrace. i hope the powers to be at the fleet are reading your comments and mine and sort it out.
there is absolutely no excuse for this none at all under no circumstances
would they want there family to be treated like you we would all know the answer to that.
a long journey for you home sadly i cannot apologize on the result because i was delighted but i can wish you luck on tuesday night

It is indeed sad when people who have supported a club through thick & thin over many years find themselves on the receiving end of the less endearing aspects of the Beautiful Game.

Both your posts made me re-call my old mum who travelled to Barrow in the spring of 1982 to see us relegated on goal difference after holding the lead with 3/4 of the game gone. She swore she'd never go to there again because some home fans had gloated (not in chants or songs, but face to face) that we were going down. Unfortunately, she never got the chance to go back on this statement, but I'm sure she would have done, given the opportunity. Deep down she knew that a couple of boorish tw@ts do not speak for a whole club &, in the same vein, I very much hope the Barrow lady of 30 years standing changes her mind next season.

The events at the end yesterday made me think of the old girl, too. She always felt sorry for the away supporters when they had travelled a long way only to see their team concede at the death - remembering some of her own experiences lent her empathy, I guess. As for me, I was always too ecstatic to spare too much of a thought for the opposition.

Unfortunate, but the police insistence was based on intelligence they received.

I was wondering if Digitalis could contact me (by email) about these comments. As a new user with only a few posts I'm restricted with regard to sending PM's and the like.
