The Sun is a disgrace, how they still manage to pull in readers is beyond me.....although it does go to show the amount of total idiots who read that rag in this country   I would t mind betting tho

Who gives a sh*t. Waste of space the lot.

I would keep the monarchy, they are a very important part of our country & union. The rest i would tell to jog on but our capital city is full of history and getting rid of this by getting rid of

Surely its about time we had a grown up debate about these pampered parasites.

So are you saying that Prince Charles is a pampered parasite, it's a bit over the top but I wouldn't disagree if he can't be bothered to attend his Grandson's first birthday and Remembrance Sunday at the Epitaph last year.

Is a birthday that important, answer not really if there are many more important things you could be doing.

In his position missing the Remembrance Sunday thing doesn't look good and I can't remember the reason but I bet it was worthy of missing it and he honoured the dead in his own way.

Because he was attending a Remembrance event in India, paying respect to the thousands who gave their lives in WWII.

But Charles could have done that at the Epitaph couldn't he

I don't think the Indians would have been best pleased after he agreed to attend their ceremony.

I see that Prince Charles actually attended the Royals traditional Christmas Day service at Sandringham, I had a feeling that he might try his utmost to cry off particularly in the absence of Camilla Parker Bowles who apparently had a bad back although rumour has it a rift has developed between her and Kate:

Depends wether you believe there is now peace in Ireland.

When Adams and Co actually condemn the REAL IRA, then I'll admit Charlie Boy was right !

The trouble is that, as I said, Charles has become a liability and nobody is interested in Camilla Parker Bowles, William has to succeed the Queen with the iconic Kate as Queen and baby George or else the Royal family will lose all credbility

Still no news on the Queen abdicating then and allowing Charles to become King, that's a surprise!

I would t mind betting though that a large percentage of those that buy it buy it for the sports and particularly football section and if it wasn't for that it would struggle to find buyers

What the story actually was is a young girl doing something whilst being encouraged to by her uncle without any knowledge of the symbolism behind it or even any way to possibly comprehend it. Non-Story but par for the course for the same news agency (albeit a different paper) who phone tapped Milly Dowler whilst missing. Only person at fault was Edward VIII

Just been talking to my father-in-law, who was a boy in the WW11,

He said that it was common for children in the playground to goose-step round the play-ground giving a nazi salute, encouraged by teachers.  They were taking the p1ss out of the regimented nazis.

Never heard of that Big JR but I could totally believe it to be true

Prince Harry was pictured wearing a Nazi uniform when he was in his teens and had to make a grovelling apology. It may have been insensitive and stupid but was blown out of all proportion IMO. I'm no fan of the monarchy and would rather we was a republic, but still believe they should be afforded some privacy and really fail to understand why some people are so interested in their lives.

Torn on the question of the royal family. On the one hand, they do keep the class system going in this country and that can't be a good thing - on the other hand they do bring in a lot of money for the country both in terms of tourism and the occasional trade visits. I think that some of the vast amount of assets that some of the royals own (Earl of Westminster comes to mind) need to go back to the state. On balance I'd keep them though.

I must confess that I laughed at the Sun's headline 'Their Royal Heilnesses', clearly the future Queen didn't know what she was doing at the time.

RalphC - Even if that was the case the film was made in 1934, well before Hitler had risen to power in Germany.
