There is more to this than has been told so far. The Club will be issuing a press release tomorrow, which will appear on the news page before you get ready to go to the Millwall match.

So do I need to restart the prediction league registrations or not? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Nearly everybody had put Liam as the top 'end of season' scorer..... <img src="/images/graemlins/wall.gif" alt="" />

The face of the Fleet at the supporters trust meeting was none other than Liam Hatch and now he's left us frown.gif... Liam thanks for your efforts, im sure if you can practice your finishing now that you're full time you can go a very long way in football. I look forward to reading the press release...Im a pessimist at best as you all know !!

Lets not all go overboard about this, the reason Liam was so popular was because he put 110% into every game and was willing to fight for every ball...we ought to expect that from anyone playing for the Fleet.

I don't want to belittle Liam and I certainly wish him all the best for the future but lets be honest his finishing was not great he often dribbled up his own [****!!****] and he missed too many matches through injury. He is good in the air and because of his work rate he upsets a lot of defenders but getting £23,000 for him has got to be good business.

We have just signed Andy Drury from Sittingbourne in similar circumstances and at a similar age to the signing of Liam from Herne Bay. If we get two seasons a few goals and some good memories from him and then sell him for £25,000 then I'd say thats a bloody good signing.

I know Gravesend fans always like to have a moan but there seems to be an awful lot of doom and gloom and relegation talk when we haven't even started the season yet.

Last year we had a lot of " Gravesend till I die " which suddenly became " Gravesend till they have a bad spell " this year it seems to be " Gravesend till my favourite player leaves "

Awful timing to say the least. I cannot see a rush to join the Trust

given the current state of the Striker situation. However, we MUST not get panicked into signing a money grabbing journeyman Donkey.

Having released Stadhardt, Wilkins and Booth, it is now up to the Manager to find a solution to the striking problem which was evident last season. This next signing will be extremely important to the Club. As far Liam is concerned, I believe there are mitigating circumstances so please no stampede to build the gallows for the Manager and Chairman, just yet. Let us judge the Manager on his ability to find this Striker. There can be no excuses about goalscorers are hard to find etc.etc......Margate found one that scored 12 Conference goals and he cost them nothing!!!!

So be patient, we have 3 weeks and lets not forget, the midfield and defence is looking sound with some quality players having come in.

But please Mr Chairman, sort out the bloody kit situation, let us at least have a 'professionally' turned out team instead of the 'Dog and Duck' with pathetic letters pealed on and off as players come and go.

Who ever organised that lettering shold be sold to Barnet along with

Liam !!

Down but not out.

I would have thought that it was pretty clear <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> which part is giving you a problem. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It wasn't done over Andy's head and it wasn't an illegal approach.

I agree Matt. Having thought this through it was good business for the club. Pity that the amount has been made pulic so quickly. Now if Andy tries to sign a player everyone knows that he has 23k in his pocket and the price goes up.

On a personal note what pisses me off is the fact that if you read the terms of use on the Barnet website there is a lot made about not being able to use anything on their site without permission and you must give a credit to the website as the source, and so on and so on, and then the bastards just take the NOTN photo of Liam and put on their site without asking and without a credit and link back.

I think the word I am looking for will be censored out so I'll stick to Hypocrites
