I thought they looked good.No23(for the life of me can't remember his name) looked very good & sharp, just what we need up front.Lee Turner (his 2nd spell at the Fleet I believe, had an excellent first half. Looks like Wilko will have a fight on his hands to keep the No1 shirt. What surprised me was how many Millwall fans they were.I think it was mentioned the other night that only around 400 to 500 fans (both sides)will turn up, but as this will be my 2nd season as a Fleet fan I was surprised, as many other people probably were to here how many did turn up. Especialy for a friendly. If we play like we did last night and like the first half of last season then I can,t see why we shouldn,t finish mid table or even higher. The ground looked great. The pitch was in terrific condition. Up the Fleet.

Steve McKimm excelled in his new role of club captain, I thought. A superb choice. I believe no.23 was Andy Drury and he looked quite handy as well, as did a number of other players. Yes, I think we're going to have a half decent season. A good cup & trophy run would go down well, wouldn't it!

Thankyou for that. Steve Mckimm did have a good game but he did go in for some strong challenges and at one point I thought he was going to get a yellow card even though it was a friendly. Let's hope we do well in the cup/trophy runs.It will generate more money and help the squad with fitness and match expreience. One thing though did anyone see anything about the game on sky sports? As the cameras were there. Lets hope Sky sports show a Gravesend (home) game this season live on T.V. This will help the coffers (money) a bit. It will hopefuly show what a great team we have got.

Macca's never shy of a dodgy tackle or two, bless 'im. I think I'd prefer an away game being televised as there's bound to be some casual supporters who'd rather watch it up the pub than pay a tenner to get in, especially if it's raining. Then again, there may be loads of people with 'Hello Mum' banners coming down to get on the telly!!

mckimm's challenges were nothing compared to a certain mr wise's 2 footed lunge on matt lee!! never seen a worse tackle in a friendly. and no booking- could have easily been a red!

But that's what football is all about. Standing on the terraces or sitting in the stands watching your favourite team playing on a cold wet windy afternoon or evening( oh, I can see the winter days now holding a cup of hot steamy coffee from the tea bar and then gravesend score just as I take a mouth full.)Sorry about that just thinking what's it going to be like months from now.Maybe if we get more supporters then they may open up the other tea bar! It's a long walk from behind the home dugout to the tea bar, the coffee gets cold by the time I get back. As long as they pay the money at the turnstiles.Does anyone know if they are showing any conf. football this season and how many games are on t.v?

That's true but he will never change.See how well behave the Fleet players were though noone rush in like headless chickens to have a word with him (Wise that is).If it was the other way round then it could of been a diffrent story though.

Can anybody fill me in on who was whearing what numbers against millwall - I think I've got some but could do with some confirmation:

18 Shearer

20 Bent

23 Drury

I'd like to know who the big bloke was in the 19 jersey, as well as numbers 30 and 21 - and have we actually signed any of these (excluding Shearer)

Cheers <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I beleive 19 was Jeran Meah and 21 was Scott Goodwin. I did know 30 but I've forgotten. I'm not sure if they're still on trial or not nor if we are going to/are able to/want to sign them yet. A lad called Ben Abbey (not sure about spelling)ex-Woking played today. Looked Ok but then hardly anyone really shone out today. It was against Purfleet, after all. And we didn't lose..

One all, mate. A cracking goal from Pinnock, 18 yarder after a lovely flick-on from Tosty. Apart from that, a bit flat really. Poor old Dukku had a nightmare. As said ealier, we could field the entire Real Madrid first team and still not beat Purfleet!

Yes, Thurrock is their new name. What do they call them now? The Rocks? The Thurrs? The Throcks!!
