Smudge cheers for the support

Not bothered by Donkey as i know he doesnt reflect the true feelings of those associated with Guernsey. It's a wonderful oppurtunity for the CCL and lets enjoy it whilst it last's because I have a feeling they will be promoted to the Ryman within 3/4 years. Certainly already in CCL they are the team to beat.

GSY- very grateful to the council but it wasn't just handed on a plate- it's the result of a number of years of hard work by certain people at the club, way before my time.

A picture album of the redevelopment can be seen here

http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/westfieldfc/photos/westfield-fc--ground-redevelo-103629.html

includes photo's of the ground right up to cup game last month.

Any Guernsey supporters travelling to the match will be able to find a detailed guide on Sunday on the website of how to get there by car or train ( 25 min from Waterloo)

Shouldnt think it will be too busy around the area despite Hayes & Yeading being at home ( at Woking FC ) as they struggle to brreak 200 for midweek games unless the visitors have a sizeable following

GD you will have read my posts about my feelings on Guernsey joining up with the CCL. However my dear chap, other posters are not wrong in your behavior whilst I do appreciate how passionate you are about your team, but there is an etiquette in such a way you should pronounce oneself.

One comment I will make GD. Best beware of the volumes of anti-posts/comments aimed at you if and when Guernsey lose.... they can be a bitchy lot on here................LOL !

This match will take place at

Elmbridge Lane

Kingfield

Woking

Surrey

GU22 9AE

tel.no. 01483 771106

The unbeaten Guernsey F.C. travel over to play the in form Westfield,at their very New Impressive Stadium,a match not to be missed by any True Non League Fan.Food and Hot and Cold Drinks, and a well stocked bar await Visitors. They are expecting a very large crowd so get there early and soak up the atmosphere and have a few bevvies, and there is viewing from a balcony, high above the pitch. You could witness Guernsey's First ever defeat in the U.K.,what a memory that would be.Just hope I get to meet the Woking Mayor, who I hope has been invited for such a big Occassion,to thank them for their Financial support that they have given Westfield in making their dreams come true. All that is needed now is a Westfield WIN.I personally will be behind the Goal, giving the Guernsey keeper a bit of banter.

Just to say Guernsey have already lost in the UK....... ;)

It looks brilliant but am I being stupid here I can't see many seats !? where do the supporters sit or do they just stand around the pitch ? I'm not having a dig I'm just interested.

Like I said it looks a wonderful building but there are not many seats. It looks like a bit of a wasted opportunity to provide a few hundred seats on the pitch side of the stand.

Like I said I'm very impressed with it and I wish the club all the best with it but I don't get it.

Donley - There's enough seats for specators. First and foremost we needed a building with new bar changing rooms etc so a big stand of seats was the last of the priorities

There is room on the otheh side to put some in if required for further promotion

Bomya

there will be no traffic problems.

Cool, you gonna give me a police escort in from the M25? :)

Haha if coming from m25 then diversion wont affect you

I will post instructions tomorrow

I have read on the GFC website that they had 8 first team starters out of the Spelthorne Sports cup game and still got a result...........does anyone know if that was true ?

If so have they got injury problems ahead of the Westfield game ? could be thier first loss ....it's gotta to come sooner or later.

Guernsey did indeed have several players missing who would almost certainly start

First choice keeper Tardif, 1st choice LB McKenzie, captain Sam Cocherane, Ex oxford yth skipper Gus Mackay, Club captain Matt Warren, Attacking wonders Glyn Dyer and Dave Rihoy, and a handful of othre players who would be in first team contention. We had three teenagers playing (all of which were starting for the first time).

A number of the first choice players were turning out for their local league side in a cup game against Jersey rivals, and the manager wanted to use the cup to blood a couple of youngsters.

There were a few injuries as well.

Not sure of Tuesday's squad but It's likely to be stronger than the Spelthorne game.

I'm expecting it to be close, Westfield and Bedfont away will be benchmarks for our level I think

Spelthorne were a decent outfit I thought. pretty organised at the back, good on the ball. They'll be fine this season
