You scared the sh*t out of us at times...

Just been reading some of your comments about last nights game at Yeovil...
Being a Yeovil fan, I can safely say that your team attacked more fluently and more consistently than any other team to play us at Huish Park all season... After ten minutes, I was beginning to think you would stuff us completely!
We were lucky with the penalty - I had a clear view and thought that your defender got his foot to the ball first. However, the decision was fairly typical of the Ref's we have seen recently.
Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season. You should make it to the Conference easily, but I think you might need to buy a couple of quick defenders for next season - with some better finishing we could have had a hatfull last night with the balls over the top...
Cheers,
Dave

Excuse me mr. Yeovil fan!!!! Canvey make it to the conference easily?? Have you actually seen the league table? Some one right up their back sides, and they the better team, i mean we beat them 2-0 away from home at park lane, i think that proves who is the stronger team in the Ryman premier and who should make it to the conference easily!!!!! It could go either way, just depends on which team holds their nerve the longest, and i cannot really predict who will win the league, it is so tight, GNFC win their games in hand go 4 points ahead and then beat CIFC at home then i think they have it the bag, but i personally dont think that gonnah happen! I think the GNFC v CIFC game will be a very dirty match, and hopefully no flood lights will fail when CIFC are losing 2-0 again.

Hey! Our board. Our moment of glory. Our compliments.
Clear off to your own board, earn your own respect for your own entertaining style of football and leave us alone to enjoy ours.
Far too many Fleet fans are infatuated with Canvey FC and can't stop talking and thinking about us. Sad really, I thought they would want to aim their attention at their own club as I understand they're not that bad.
Now, back to all those Yeovil fans who want to compliment us. Keep 'em coming. We love it.
Merv CIFC
[ 06 March 2002: This message was edited by: Merv CIFC ]

i agree merv whilst we can expect a lot of input from the title favourites from kent, a small respite to allow us to get over the loss of the trophy and bask in some 'good football' compliments wouldn't go amiss

I had a call last night from a buddy of mine, who's a YTFC Season Ticket Holder, who said The Gulls played some of the best footie of any visiting team at The New Huish this season. Also said Canvey deserved a draw at least. I had previously told him that Canvey can be slow starters and only begin to really play second half, but it appears we were up and at 'em from the first whistle. He also commented on the away support being quite vocal - so good on ya, all the travelling yellows.

well sorry for taking the credit away from you, i am sure that you played a lot better against Yeovil that we did agasinst Stalybridge! And good luck with your very close competition with us for conference footy next year, i will be very close and is a shame both teams cant go up because both could easily survive in the conference! Both are evenly matched and are both top non league football sides, it will be a rite shame for whoever misses out!

Well done Canvey, excellent performance but to prosper in the conference you will need 1 or 2 MUCH quicker defenders. Yeovil play a similar passing style to yourselves away from home (5 goals at Doncaster & Morecambe and 4 at Hayes in the last three outings) but on our 'beach' it is simply not possible. Our manager knows that and if yours had done his homework instead of trying to stir it up all the time you could have won!!!

Anyway, I am not here to criticise but to praise..... see you next year !!!
