Lammas v Westfield (league cup semi-final Weds 11th April)

Recommended Posts

Lammas look to get too their 3rd final this season when they take on Westfield in the semi final with Warlingham awaiting the winners in the final. Both teams have met 3 times already this season with Westfield winning both in the league and Lammas winning one in the cup. Im sure it will be a good game and Lammas will be looking too do Lammas 3rd team manager Martin Varney proud as he sadly passed away on Sunday afternoon. Top fella and a lammas legend.

Gutted I won't be able to play in this after my injury in last weeks match against Sandhurst :( .

I'll be down ASAP after seeing the elbow specialist this eve, where I will hopefully get a full idea of the damage I've done and how long I'll be out for!

I didn't know the fella, but RIP to Martin. Presume there will be a mins silence before the match??

Sick as a pig!!! Missed opportunity for us. We missed good chances but only made henry work once or twice. Not good enough. having said that fair play to westfield who kept plugging away and got their rewards when our keeper made a poor clearance to their striker who cooley dispatched. Well done NLN, Jurgs, henry and all the westfield boys and best of luck in the final. I will be rooting for you!!!

Poor game really Lammas should have had the game won by half time but missed too many chances. Westfield came back into the game second half and their goal was handed on a plate after a poor clearance from the keeper. We had so many chances but never really tested the keeper. Good luck to Westfield in the final.

Still buzzing………….

First half we weren’t at the races. Lammas missed a couple of good chances but as mentioned already Henry only had to make one decent save

After a deserved half time rollocking we were much better second half and sensed Staines were tiring. Ross Anson coolly slotted home 10 minutes from the end after the home keeper shanked one up in the air. Squad down to bare bones but all those that came in were excellent tonight. Been a long season but the players deserve this final – especially after beating Bedfont Hartley and now Lammas on the way

The above overviews from NLN and Brunty/Redders pretty much some it up.

It wasn't the best of games to watch in all honesty. Lammas had the best of the first half but only really ever had half chances and Henry only had to make one good save from the best of them. Second half I felt was Westfields overall and they created the better of the half chances on offer.

The one real chance came Westfields way after Redders backpass was shut down quickly and the keepers hurried clearance found its way back to our striker who clamly slotted into the bottom corner. Lammas pressed but never fored Henry into any action of note and Westfield made their first final in 20+ years!

Gutted to be missing out on it esp as it's on my "home turf" at Windsor FC, but will be there for sure. After 2 close league games I'd expect another close match, but with some goals if the 3-2 and 3-1 league games (1 win each) are to go by.
