Next week it's away to Chelmsford on Monday evening, and home to AFC Hornchurch (in a dress rehearsal for the league cup final) on Wednesday.

Tonight we had a scratch team playing with friends of the club playing alongside Some of our young regulars such as Sam Deaney, James Winchester and Charley Crowley. We played a very good Chelmsford City Reserve team and due to heavy traffic we had 8 players arriving late thus kicking off at 7.45 and a bit but without a proper team chat and warm up. We conceded 2 goals in the first 15mins before growing into the game and in fact taking over the possession levels.

 

Game finished 0-2, but we hit the crossbar, had two excellent Nana Asamoah efforts saved by the CC FC keeper and had Dominic Gentle going close twice as well. Could have niicked a draw which would not have flattered us.

 

On Wednesday we'll have as attacking and entertaining team as possible made up hopefully of many of our U18s as possible, it'll be a young team looking to bridge the youth-adult levels of footy. As always the youngsters enjoy a crowd and respond when they hear the encouragement from the sidelines. So a nice crowd for our last league game of the season would be great.

Theres been a change in our scheduled line up, which will now include some well known vets and names from the past, all very familiar to the Town faithful, it'll be alot of fun for those who regularly come and watch the ressies as we bring down the curtain to another reserve season bar aring an away game at Cheshunt next week and our ressie cup final against Wednesday's opponents.

There will be an nspection at 15:00, although I understand our pitch magicians are quietly confident that the game will be able to go ahead.

Sorry folks, the weather has beaten us for the first time at QEII in the Capital League.

 

This evening's game has been postponed, as there is plenty of surface water on the pitch and more rain to come.
