Good luck with the fixtures Alan - let's hope the Combined Counties isn't the last Step 5/6 league to release it's fixtures in full!

Western, Hellenic, Wessex, Midland Alliance, North West & North East leagues already have their fixtures out.

I am sure that all CCL clubs will listen to what you have recommended Smudge and will of course ensure that they run it pass you before negotiating any future finance deals. Where would this league be without you? What would the clubs do without you? How empty would this forum be without you? Do you really think that all of the clubs in the CCL need your comments or ideas before acting? After visiting many of them in this our first season I now know that they all know what they are doing, are very well organised and able to fend for themselves. The world of Smudge and his recommendations are not required to facilitate the smooth running of the CCL, I know this will be a surprise to you but the Management Committee can do a very good job without you and I am sure they will keep all of our clubs on the straight and narrow without any of your negativity or bias opinions. Take it from me GFC will not do anything illegal or in contravention of the rules policed by the Management Committee or any other agency. So please relax and find something else to rant about

I agree with Guernsey Guru - it's not as if they are doing anything immoral or illegal.

You cannot have a 'communist' attitude to how football is run - some animals will be more equal than others, and it's up to the others to prove that they can compete with the bigger sides and beat them.

Smudge, if you won the lottery and put money into your club but then got flack for doing so by posters on here, I'm sure that you'd be cross at people daring to oppose what you are doing.

As I said before, so long as a club is being run well and the Board are not ripping fans off nor getting money from illicit sources (drug dealing/child porn) then what's the problem? If somebody bought Gloucester City out and promised to build our new stadium and take us into the Football League, then so long as he/she is legit I'd warmly welcome it!

Problem is Adam, seen it all before in many different guises,Canvey,Hornchurch,Farnborough,Croydon Athletic,Weymouth,to name a few.Lets take Guernsey and more so Guernsey Guru, why did they get elected into the CCL,because they promised to pay all Clubs Expenses when playing in Guernsey,if they had not they would not of got elected. Now they throw it back in my face,a person who has not had a freebie.Yes they are a well run Club, but in my opinion they have done a Knaphill,by going behind Clubs backs to the League Secretary, not the Committee,or Clubs, to air their proposals. Then advertised it for all an sundry, before it is a done deal. They were treated with kid gloves last year,by the CCL Committee, who bent over backwards to help them in anyway they could,Member Clubs should all be treated equal,no Bank Holiday Fixtures,7 out of 8 of their last games at home.Guildford flying over midweek to bring a fixture forward because the Ground they share was booked for the Saturday. As for me winning the lottery, impossible,as I do not do it,more chance of getting run over by a Bus.Would Guru like to give us his views,on the Ground grading, can he blame me for that also.

But Guernsey were not the only club to play most of their home fixtures at the end of the season!

Good point there HKP - Worcester Park, as Bomaya said in another thread, have eight away games at the start of the season and the eight home.

Stourbridge (Southern League) and Causeway United don't get to play at home until September, because Stourbridge's Cricket team has priority over the ground at Amblecote. Luckily, Halesowen, Malvern or Bromsgrove will allow them to use their ground if they are desperate.

Yeah they did 2 years ago and took a load of stick over it,from posters on here, seems to me that Guernsey are the untouchables on this Forum.Adam have you ever been to a CCL Game or Club?

Smudge as with all issues and regarding the ground grading GFC will have all the bases covered. Discussions will have been happening even before GFC started playing in the CCL and I am absolutely sure that the solution to the ground grading issue will be made public in the very near future. GFC do nothing on the spur of the moment and Le Tissier and Dewnsip are so far on top of everything that no issue, of this type, could stop GFC from progressing. Something will already be sorted as we speak, maybe they have arranged the funding for a brand new stadium for GFC, maybe they have now received the requirements from the FA and will upgrade Footes Lane, maybe they have come to an agreement with one of the local clubs to ground share, maybe it is something entirely different but I can totally assure you that it is already sorted and nothing for anyone to even spend one minute worrying about.

I dont blame you for anything Smudge I just wish you would find a hobby that keeps busy and off GFC's back. You appear to believe that the League seem to favour GFC in some way. I admit the CCL Management Committee have been very accomodating due to the travel requirements for GFC to participate in the CCL but if you are saying that GFC won division one last year because of the favouritism given by the Management Committee you are completely out of order. GFC won the league because they were the best side - period. GFC did the most travelling, GFC followed every rule to the letter and did not receive any favours that I suggest would not have been given to all fellow clubs had they requested them after acceptance into the CCL. It didnt matter that GFC played 7 out of 8 of their last fixtures at home because Smudge at the end of the day GFC would have won last years league no matter what order the fixtures came. Bedfont were our closest rivals and also had a great season but GFC beat them convincingly when the big fixture came around.

GFC's success last year was no fluke or favour from the Managment Committee. All sides we played probably tried their hardest against us but over the season we ended up top of the pile. The clubs know this is true and dont seem to raise any issues so why should you?

Guru, you must be worried about 12/13 Season though your form last year against Premier sides was hardly inspiring over 90 minutes

Horley 3 v 1 Guernsey

Guernsey 4 v 1 Ash Utd

Egham 2 v 2 Guernsey

Guernsey 2 v 2 Guildford

Guernsey 0 v 0 Colliers Wood

That is hardly League Winning Form, more mid table. So we may have the pleasure of you in 13/14?

Smudge you jump around from one thing to another

GFC and all us supporters are fully aware that this new season will be another great test and we hope our side remains competitve whilst remaining good sports and good ambassadors for our island. We will eventually reach a level where we cannot go any further and this year may be it but if we do manage to be a main top team it will not be because we have been given any unfair advantage from anyone and your comments with this regard only slander the ethics of the Management Committee and fellow CCL clubs who allowed us to be part of their league. The main reason I hope we go up is to get away from you but at the same time we will continue to make friends and relationships with some really great people and fellow clubs

Smudge, I've not been in Combined Counties land since I went to Thorpe Park aged 12.

That said, if I ever get the chance this season I would love the chance to visit a ground in the CCL. I've been to most of the Western, Hellenic, Midland Alliance and West Midland Premier League clubs and a few Welsh ones so it would be new territory for me :)

Urgently needed - a new bandwagon for Smudge to jump on. Perhaps he could have a go at G4S, or the Mexican drugs problem, or solve the international debt crisis? :D

Smudge > Chuck Norris.

'nuff said ;)

Thank you Mr Whitelaw for hopefully closing yet another attempt to bring Guernsey into some kind of bad light. Everyone should know by now that Guernsey do things correctly, nothing is sent to the media without full investigation and communication

I didnt think about the angle of the English clubs being able to watch thier sides in Guernsey without travelling so that is excellent, another service for CCL supporters provided by GFC!

Now do us all a favour Smudge go off and find something else to do

bore off with your everyone hates guernsey, people are asking questions that should be answered it happens to every club new an old!!

Show me where I have stated that everyone hates Guernsey. Asking questions about things that are absolutely nothing to do with you or making up questions just to raise or instigate an issue is my gripe. Wembley have been torn into for their recent announcements and all clubs, with the relevant permissions, can look for revenue streams and should be applauded for continually survive at this level independantly. Why question everything? Why not say 'good idea' now and again? Why not support them all as they work tirelessly to stay afloat and provide football for all of us. GFC's funding goes completely to providing non league football in Guernsey. The players receive no payment, the amazing managent team, administrators and volunteers receive no payment. Nobody is profiteering here all GFC is doing is trying to survive and improve as a football club.
