An excellent interview with Carolyn Radford following her appointment as Chief Executive at Field Mill, she really knows what she's talking about doesn't she:

I think you've got a crush on young Carolyn, Rhodes ;)

Mansfield Town have certainly come a long way since the turbulent reign of Keith Haslam, so well done to John Radford and Carolyn Still for their hard work.

Still a long way to go, but who knows what can happen.

I see that Mansfield have already sold some 1500 season tickets for next season and the number is climbing by the day, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the pricing structure, unlike at many other Club's, and a family ticket can be bought for as little as, wait for it, £40 per ticket in the family area of the Ian Greaves stand in the lower tier:

Rhodes might have to add Mansfield Town to the list of clubs he supports ;)

The Mayor of Simpleton - Well strangely enough I have already put trips to Wycombe Wanderers on 17 August, Southend on 2 November, AFC Wimbledon on 14 December, Oxford on 15 February, Dagenham & Redbridge on 1 March and Northampton on 15 March in my diary

  • 2 weeks later...

Mansfield have four very attractive home pre-season fixtures to look forward to and I expect Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United will be sell outs, the Club are clearly back in the big time thanks to John and Carolyn Radford:

Sat 13th July – Nottingham Forest (3.00pm)
Wed 17th July – Peterborough United (7.30pm)
Sat 20th July – Sheffield United (3.00pm)
Fri 26th July – Coventry City (7.30pm)

A narrow 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest this afternoon, and a full house, must have pleased Mansfield:

I see that the Stags lost narrowly to Sheffield United this afternoon in another prestigious pre-season friendly, if that's a sign of things to come then they're as good as League 2 champions this season:

They're not a bad side, however they will not be top 10 in League 2 next season.

Looks like Chesterfield, Rochdale (who beat Blackburn 2-0) and Cheltenham (who did very well v an inept Gloucester City XI today) for the top 3.

The Stags entertain Coventry City on Friday night, no doubt yet another full house at Field Mill before the eagerly awaited new campaign gets under way at Scunthorpe on 3 August followed by a difficult looking trip to Tranmere the following Tuesday in the Capital One Cup First Round

Another very impressive display by the Stags at Field Mill on Friday night against Coventry City to bring the curtain down on a hugely successful and high profile pre-season campaign:

Lets get ready to rumble folks, only ten minutes to kick off at Glanford Park for Mansfield's first game of the new 2013/2014 campaign, presumably Carolyn Radford will be in attendance
