Respect for Woodford United

Burnham played Woodford last night at the Gore and were 6 - 0 up by half time. Woodford have lost every game so far this season.

 

It must be difficult for them to turn up for every game now, but turn up they did. One has to have respect for a side when even with such a bad record, because when they came out in the second half, they contested every ball, and were not a pushover. It would be very easy for them to resort to all the usual tactics to spoil and foul but they played sportingly and there were hardly any incidents where the ref had to admonish.

 

So in a strange way, well done Woodford, you may have lost, but you played the game the way it should be played, despite your sad position and could walk off with your heads up, as you did your best and did not give up.
