Blackz 62
Blog regarding yesterday's game now up. My views may come across as somewhat acidic - unusual for me, especially after I've slept on things first - but I'm a strong believer in getting behind the team, win lose or draw. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but I felt the cynical, grumbling about everything contingent were out in force at the game yesterday. Disappointing, even more so than the result.Up The Gate! Blackz 62
The original plan was to do two blogs at the weekend - one for the Wingate & Finchley game, and one for Terry Scott's Margate U10 team, who played Sittingbourne.Although they lost, they put in an excellent display, & were well worth the watch & write-up. Many thanks to Terry for inviting me to come & watch / report - hope you all enjoy the read Margate U10's Blog (The Youth Of Today) http://theblueeyedblog.wordpress.com/2014/02/10/the-youth-of-today/ Blue Banshee

michael 98
Great reading as usual. agree that certainly for the first half, pitch was in great nick considering the damage the persistent rain had done. For those who like pure football,i thought Margate played some nice stuff in the first half, albeit once centre of pitch inevitably cut up in second half, they had to grind it out more ;which was much more to the liking of a neaderthal like me, who just wants margate to win no matter what So there was a new style programme then ? -very nice. lovely evening all round-i think it was the previous millenium when i last went to HDP and there was hardly a breath of wind Edited February 21, 2014 by michael Blue Banshee

michael 98
shorter blog than normal -can understand that-there wasn't too much to say really. Keeper meter-probably agree with the score on that one-but if it was a score on opposing Keepers Wag-would get at least a 9 Blue Banshee

michael 98
a great read as ever. concur that margate matched wealdstone throughout. a quality game of few chances for either side-and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me-Beckles rightly names m-of m.Got lots of 'encouragement from Stuart in first half in particular (not sure when encouragement turns to nagging )but noticeably less in second half as i think Stuart realised that beckles was having a pretty good game . Nelson alos played well i thought.Must admit-was a big admirer of eliot cox and in early games, i thought nelson was not quite up to it-but has improved alot imo, and to be fair-certainly matches and probably betters what cox had to offer-so a god signing by TB. Thought TB was a bit harsh on his summary of second half performance(I'm obviously getting too soft in my old age ). Agreed not quite up to first half-and it wasn't a bad second half performance. Thought Margate matched wealdstone in second half as well. pity about the goal-one mistake/misplaced pass from one of our midfield substitutes ,and Wealdstone take the opportunity. To be fair to wealdstone-took it well, and seized the chance. Overall, i thought the one small difference between the sides was that whilst possession was about equal-wealdstone 'found their man' with more passes that what margate did-just marginally better at keeping the ball and finding their own players
Blackz 62
Thanks Michael - agree with you on your match analysis there, felt it was a good performance & that we were unlucky to lose.
