Midweek Games 18th-20th November

Recommended Posts

Molesey V Windsor looks the stand out game tonight, though I'm sure Badshot and Camberley will be a feisty affair!

Really bunching up now behind South Park with Camberley and Molesey or Windsor all going above Epsom if they win tonight. Also Villa with two games in hand puts them on level points with Epsom.

So nearly 40% of the way through the season and it looks like the league winners will come from South Park, Epsom, Molesey, Camberley and Villa (maybe Hartley, but their FA Cup hangover continues).

South Park in pole position who's going to emerge from the chasing pack ... Looks like it could be Molesey though two very tough games against Windsor tonight and Epsom on Saturday will prove if they're real contenders.

Counting Windsor out then? I think that might be a little premature.

Apart from a dreadful spell in Sept / Oct where we lost 4 out of 5, we've looked pretty consistent, without quite firing on all cylinders. Ben Harris notched a hat trick in 11 minutes last week, and if he really starts motoring I think we could be the strongest challengers to South Park.

Tonight might put me back in my box though! (Gutted I can't go.)

Ash utd 4 horley t 0

Finally a win

First half saw horley looked the more dangerous side until we opened the scoring about midway into the half. Still evenly balanced tho at ht.

Second half different story. Two goals with cracking strikes inside the opening 3mins saw us 3-0. We then missed a pen when the horley keeper made a good double save. It wasnt too long before we got a fourth & held on confidently to claim 3pts

Hartley Wintney 5-0 Valley

Hard to know what to say really - didn't think i performances could be any worse than Saturday (when we were deservedly beaten by Alton), but last night hit new depths.

If you give a bad side 3 goals, you are in trouble, but to gift three to a good side is just suicidal. Three mistakes from two of our most experienced players killed us, but in the first half we barely got out of our half.

Second half improved a bit, and did cause them a few problems, but game was dead by then, so they may well have stepped off the gas.

On to the next one, and hopefully a respectable performance.

Thanks to the HW committee for their hospitality, as the lone committee member to make the trip, they made me feel more than welcome.

Not a game that was particularly kind on the eye but a well scrapped point for Windsor at Molesey. No Ben Harris, an outfielder in goal and a red card for stupidity meant it was very hard earned.

Molesey helped the cause with some very poor shooting. I think they knew we didn't have a proper keeper and tried to shoot too early rather than taking their time and looking for the neat finish.

Having said that George Gould did make some fine saves.

Seeing as we only had 1 or 2 real chances, rarely testing their keeper, I'd say on reflection, we got out of jail last night.

Titch kept asking if we were going to say a little prayer tonight. The answer given was no, it'll be a big prayer, you stick to the little ones. Whatever - maybe God was on our side last night! ;)

Molesey 0-0 Windsor

How this game finished 0-0 I don't no, molesey dominated majority of the game and should have been 3 up at half time.

Windsor come back into it for the first 15 minutes of second half but didn't really cause the impressive molesey defence too many problems.windsor forward was then dismissed for kicking out. Molesey had another 6 or 7 chances to win the game but wasn't there night.

good game to watch for a goalless draw.
