No, sadly he didn't get a mention even when Sebastian Vetel deservedly won, sorry, walked overseas sports personality. I thought they might have interviewed Christian Horner who was in the audience, he would have definitely given Mark a mention and fond farewell to F1.

That's part of it - there's this image of the ultimate professional but underneath it all, he's not a very nice person at all. Didn't he beat up one of his girlfriends before now?

 

Also the year he won it, he didn't really achieve much and I also don't think he has a sparkling personality either (although that seemingly doesn't really come into it).

I'm not so sure that's the case, Giggs must have achieved something to win the award and despite his personality and possibly not being a particularly nice person you can't really take anything away from his achievements at Old Trafford
