Saturday 8th February Matches

Recommended Posts

Clubs were given approval to postpone matches today if they felt there was no chance of playing tomorrow.  So far I have had the following absolutely definite postponements advised (hope I haven't missed any).

Prem

Bedfont Sports  v  Ash United

Chessington & Hook  v  Hartley Wintney (just in)

Mole Valley SCR  v  Horley Town

Wembley  v  Camberley Town

Div One

CB Hounslow United  v  Worcester Park

Plenty more to come I suspect.

With the torrential rain in Surrey from 11.00 pm Friday to 4am Saturday morning, I reckon everything locally will be off !

about 3g pitches and supply and demand, youth set ups playing in these grounds/stadiums would genarate and maintain interest from youngsters, can you imagine as a kid playing every sunday at Camberleys krooner park from the age of 13+,this would preserve council pitches, generate income not just through pitch hire but bar and food takings.concils are and always been slow on generating sports grounds.whitton school now have a3g pitch which booked out all the time.football is dying and that is in no small do to councils tearing up pitches to build on.

What planet are you on,every single groundsman in this league is more than half decent ,as you put it,how can one man with a fork and a line marker even attempt to thwart mother nature its silly to expect anyone to work miracles( unless you are AUpostie of course lol )in this current climate

Croydon v Frimley Green - now OFF.

The pitch passed an initial inspection at 1000 hrs, and was borderline as the forecast was saying only 20% chance of rain in the area.  Odds not in football's favour today, however, and the deluge since then has resulted game OFF following a further inspection at 1100 hrs.
