Yep, we were lucky ..... poor performance by the Bees, thought you were the better team on the night. That's the way it goes.

Just got back -

Another good away performance ( despite the result ), looked very solid at the back until the 93rd minute !! Is that the 3rd injury time goal we have nowlet in that has cost us points ? Burton , FGR and now tonight , lets hope it doesn't prove too costly at the end of April....

We didn't create much but probably just edged it as the better team.

Keep the faith ....

PS . Liam looked half the player he was when he wore the red and white.. Didn't cause a threat at all, and got taken off.

Hmmmm - in the cold light of day - how much did we REALLY trouble their keeper? I thought the 1st half was dire - we improved in the second half only to find ourselves unable to take advantage of our domination and chances that were created.

A simple fact: the club predicts a loss of £50,000 without our cup run. Fine - the sky money covers that.

Prize money so far - in the region of £22,500?

New sponsorship deal also boosts the coffers.

WE NEED A STRIKER WHO KNOWS WHERE THE GOAL IS!

Haworth is a decent player - but would benefit from a decent striker up front with him; to feed off him and score goals.

Pinnock or Abbey aren't the answer. Both have talent - Abbey has pace.....but they are not the answer.

We can afford to sign a striker - let's hunt for one and get him in asap.....

Om another note - it was rather amusing for some dozy bird to tell us on the way back to the car how 'we have been crap every year we have been to Barnet'!

Obviously the stupid bint has only come out of the woodwork now Barnet are having a good season - she soon shut up when a pointed out our only other visit resulted in a 4-1 victory last season!

Haven't we signed Francis Kumber, a Nigerian International striker, who looks like Heskey, who played in the Orient friendly, who is a striker and, if I've forgotten to mention, is a striker? Where is he, then?

Hope he's not far off match fitness otherwise another poor signing!

Couldn't make the game last night and surprised to read the Fleet just edged the game, performance wise, considering the stats (if correct) indicate we had no corners and only one shot on target. Definitely need a better striker or do we need a better midfield who can create chances and provide a better service to the lads up front??

A point from Barnet would have been useful but 1pt a game is not going to be enough. A few wins are needed and soon.

I hope we're not going along that old familiar 'good cup run and relegation' route!!!

We are a much better team than last yr. cant see us getting relegated but we do need a goalscoring midfielder. we have to hope Drury comes through as he looked great in pre-season. We do miss the goals that Jacko and Bentley gave us though. Im sure whoever Andy will sign will do the business, especially if he has a few grand to spend.

By what i saw at orient of Kumber he is not all that, but then i think that was his first match and didnt know anyone. I hope he proves me wrong as he is a big strong foward.

Kumber's goalscoring record speaks for itself, ready or not, he really ought to be on the bench as an extra option IMO.

Welcome back Matt, have you ben on extended holiday AGAIN.

Hope to catch up on Saturday.

The match once again, I though we looked much better in the second half, and just lost 10 seconds concentration, when they scored.

Agree about Liam, where was the Beast!!.

Another mob like Chester, the players moaning there way through the match, especiall Hendon the Number 4. obviously his mental age on the back of his shirt . I honestly thought Barnet were poor, but they got the necessary three points.

Come on you fleet.

One the good news side, Ben Walshe said he hoped to be back Saturday, and was feeling much better. and with Shears on the bench last night he may get in some match practice at the reserve match tonight along with the new Francis. This will then give Andy a few more options.

Although I understand why I really do not like Rob Owen playing on the wrong side as it where.

The original Francis ( the fridge) IMO is improving with every match.

ps THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR COMMENTING ON THE BRILLIANT PHOTO IN THE NLP. AUTHOGRAPHS WILL BE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO SATURDAYS MATCH ( AT A SMALL CHARGE)

Thats a bit harsh James

Gravesend were the better side last night and were away from home. You dont win if you dont make chances. They were few and difficult. Then they paid the ultimate penalty. Never mind. Plenty more games to go.

While this may be true, Daz, the club will still need to choose wisely and sensibly - especially given the £60,000 deficit we have from last year, and the likely £10,000 fine if we keep picking up red cards at the rate we have been so far this season.

I see from Barnet's messageboard that they felt hard done by on the Sending off and felt Grazioli's booking was unwarranted as well.

My own view of the sending off was that the challenge deserved a red card, whether or not he was the last man - after all, whatever happened to the automatic red card for a tackle from behind edict that came out several years ago??

As for Grazioli, I thought he was lucky to escape with a yellow - the tackle on Lee was extremely late - the ball must have been almost 5 yards in front of Matt as he was clattered, and he was lucky to avoid serious injury.

Disappointing to lose out as we did - whilst we didnt create too much, Macca was unlucky with the effort the keeper beat out and Strouts really should have hit the target with that header from Drury's free kick in the second half instead of putting it inches over the bar.

Still, we worked hard and defensively we're so much better organised than we were. The only problem is that it means midfielders get pulled deeper to help defend, and thus arent available to attack.
