Hello again Vic of CIFC. Best wishes to Jeff King and the Boyz on Saturday. Don't worry about Braintree, they are still on cloud nine since last year when they put TEN past a Romford XI made up of under 14's over fifties and a couple of geezers found in Romford Market. They call themselves The Iron but I think they will be putty in the hands of CIFC. G&N FC have a much harder task with Bedford, a team that Jeff King rates quite highly.
Predictions: Braintree 1 Canvey Island 4

Bedford 2 Gravesend 2
In your moment of glory spare a thought for Romford FC returning back to the Essex Senior.
Up (or is it Down) the Boro'.

And just how apt is the above posters nic? hehe I can imagine all that bawling his mouth off and no one listening. Romford is a fabled name in non-leaguse soccer folklore along with Chelmsford city. The people who masquerade as Romford are grubby old Collier Row who never even played out of the same borough that Romford is situated (Havering). I reckon Canvey will win at Cressing Road saturday. Iron (not the Iron by the way, thats west ham) are a hard working side who have achieved what they have through hard work and team spirit, Whenever we play a top side hitting their straps we are unhinged. The biggest prob Canvey will encounter is nerves but then I feel Gravesend will be worse in this respect - having less experienced players in their side. So i reckon Canvey will win, Gravesend will draw. I hopw Canvey lose being an IRON supporter and coz Canvey add so much prestige to the Ryman prem via their cup exploits of recent seasons and we don't wish to lose that bit of charisma we get from the "millionaires" club. What a great finsih to the season.

Canvey will win, be in no doubt. It's all down to my own beloved 'Fleet'. If they play well and get in front early it shant be a problem. The longer it goes on though the harder it will get. News filtering in from the other clash will play its part too. If I were a Canvey fan the only thing that would worry me would be the mood of the fans and even maybe the team at Bedford.
I cant take the pressure its Radio Kent for me with a cup of tea. Good luck everyone.
Carjam

...EXCUSE ME?
Braintree, if results go their way, still have a chance of 3rd place, which I'm led to believe gives a bigger slice of prize money. So I'm sure they will give their all against you lot.
Bedford, on the other hand, will be playing for pride.
I know who I would rather be up against and they're not from Essex.
Either way, the nail biting starts from here...

Sorry Iron knob,
Time for a geography and a history lesson. Collier Row is part of The London Borough of Havering. The grotty Sungate ground where Romford were tenants after becoming Collier Row & Romford for one season only is Not within Havering. Romford have never masqueraded as Collier Row, surely Braintree are masquerading as Crittall Athletic. Didn't you use to be Called Braintree & Crittall Athletic?
Good luck to you Iron Knob, your team have had a very good season.

I think this is a real blow for us and to our to our chances of geting a result on Saturday.

That is really bad news. he looked a good player when we played you.

Just hope you can hold out for a 0-0 draw then. All we have got to do is beat braintree!!!!

More bad news filtering through from the new eyrie, it seems that Roger Ashby has controversaly decided to drop James Heaps our excellent shot stopper and draft in a 18" cuddly interactive Barney doll. At first we were a little taken aback by this decision but we will roar him on all the same.........
I LOVE YOU, YOU LOVE ME, WERE A HAPPY FAMILY.
COME ON BARNEY.

Bald Eagle, this is my last post here. I dont like posting on the Canvey board. Its not my plac too and they seem a pretty ok bunch. Just to say that your turnstiles are gonna have to move pretty fast, I think you and the club are in for a big big suprise if you believe that 2000 is all you are going to see. Get there early.

Kevin Slinn, yes you will miss him. On the other hand just how much do Gravesend want it, that remains to be seen. The Bedford under 13's might have a chance tomorrow. I got this funny feeling that both of the front runners will end up loosing Saturday.

And im wrong
Carjam
