But for an injury time equaliser by Shrewsbury, we'd have dropped into the bottom 3 again - with Leigh coming off the back of heavy defeats against Scarborough and Telford, and Shrewsbury going there after a win at our place, it should have been an away banker - still, just grateful for small mercies at the mo - thanks Mr Street for that late equaliser.

And if we're talking about strikers being important, you only have to look at Leigh - 16 league goals and 11, including the 2 tonight, being scored by McNiven - what would we give to have someone like that?

How come they can do the business vs us, but they fail to finish off Leigh RMI?? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I expect Chester are saying how come we can't beat Gravesend, when Shrewsbury can do so with ease. It's a funny old game! Oh for a striker like McNiven, Darby, or Mills, then watch us soar up the table. Incidentally why is there such a lack of striking talent in the county?

Where's the new Portway?

Now Canvey are out of the Cup, who knows, but since they are pushing strongly for promotion anyway (looks like it may well be their year) I couldnt see him rushing to leave Canvey for Fleet at this time.

Strikers are out there there are the two at Thurrock - Akurang & Kandol

Opara at Billericay

What about QRR loan deal or another league club surely there have got to be better strikers out there than Abbey who are available

QPR have injury problems still, I believe, so cant see us getting a striker from them (if we could, how about Richard Pacquette who looked good in pre season a couple of years back if I remember, before he was whipped back to Rangers.

QPR ????

The best thing to come out of there was the Springett Brothers (sadly Peter is no longer with us ) !!.....

....anyway.....got to be good if we can get people from league clubs with experience ( even if it is QPR !....only joking!!)

As previously mentioned, we must have a good relationship with them...maybe a merger is on the cards ?

Wallis Park Rangers ??

Cheers,

Do you not remember players like Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles, Gerry Francis or Phil Parkes? All great players who once graced the QPR colours.

I once did a goalkeeping training session with one of the Springett brothers at Stonebridge Road, if I recall rightly.Must have been 25 years or so ago now. B****y hard work it was as well, but thoroughly enjoyable !
