He had been in caretaker charge at Mill Lane side since Mitch Cook left The Pikes a fortnight ago. A statement from the club reads: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Hackworth as manager of Pickering Town Community Football Club with immediate effect. "The club wish Tony every success for the future. "There was a high standard of applications for the post and it was a difficult decision to make."
