Young Rovers Defender Earns Senior Chance With Marine

Conference club Forest Green Rovers have announced that defender Scott Bevan has joined Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West side Swindon Supermarine on loan.

The second-year left-back linked up with Supermarine at the end of last week, and made his debut in a 4-0 away victory over Bashley on Saturday.

He links up with fellow Academy defender Cameron Pirie, who is already on loan at The Webbswood Stadium.

Bevan featured for Rovers' first-team squad in pre-season in friendlies against Birmingham City and Arsenal.

He initially burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old ahead of the 2013-14 campaign, and was picked up by Bristol City on a three-year contract.

However he returned to The New Lawn towards the end of last season, and has continued to develop in Scott Bartlett's youth set-up.
