FF News
North West Counties League Division One club Barnton have announced the signing of striker Shaun Tuck, who will be joining the squad after his ban in the New Year. Tuck will bring with him a vast array of experience at a higher level where he has scored goals regularly for clubs that include Witton Albion, Skelmersdale United and Warrington Town. This also provides the club with an opportunity to support him in his rehabilitation. Tuck was banned in April for eight months as punishment for sending malicious messages on the internet. The 27-year-old went to prison last summer after pleading guilty to writing a string of offensive remarks on Twitter in the hours following the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in London. The Football Association suspended the striker until 31st December, the governing body's sanction for the offence almost a year later, and as a result has spent a lot of time out of the game. The club are proud of having players and coaches from a variety of different ethnicities, cultures and faiths and believe passionately that this environment will support Tuck's reintegration into non-league football.
