FF News
Conference South club Maidenhead United's ambitious aims for community development received a massive boost from the Football Conference with a cheque for £19,725. The cheque was presented by Conference chairman Brian Lee to United chairman Peter Griffin ahead of the kick off of the last league match at York Road against Ebbsfleet United. The successful bid for the funding was carefully constructed by Community Development Officer Jon Adams and will be used to build on the groundwork laid by colleague Helen Preedy. This has included local junior teams acting as mascots on first-team matchdays, half-time penalty shoot-outs, walking football for senior citizens and a MacMillan coffee morning. The cheque will allow the programme to be fully expanded with a bigger range of activities which will provide opportunities for everyone in the local community to engage with Maidenhead United.
