Southern League Constitut

Recommended Posts

how sad that the Southern League Committee and Mike Appleby at the FA Re unable to read maps and don't give a toss about the impact that their league switching decisions make on the clubs affected.

Flackwell Heath, promoted to Step 4 for the first time, we're delighted at the prospect of playing SL Central Division, with plenty of local derbies to help them get established. Burnham FC having had a tough season being relegated from the SL Premier, we're looking forward to dusting themselves down and repairing their finances with some local derbies back in SL Central Division, from whence they were promoted.

Then both clubs discover with poor Marlow, that they have been switched, without any consultation to SL S&W, driving their costs up enormously. As a result, Flackwell Heath have had to turn down their promotion. With all the chaos that will cause.

Mike Appleby said they would not leave clubs isolated which presumably is why all three clubs were chosen for the switch, but now it is down to two, who both are going to now struggle as players who would have played in SL Central can't ge the time to travel S&W.

In the meantime, anybody looking at a map can see that the clubs transferred into Central ( Fleet and Petersfield) are well to the south of both the switched clubs so why are they being switched the other way?

Are the powers that be trying to kill Burnham and Marlow off? It looks like it!

So if they want to have clubs in the leagues, how about organising some financial help for those who have been switched willy-nilly to balance their budgets. You cannot just dump an estimated £15k additional travel, plus the loss of gates as the further the away travel, the fewer fans are able to afford it, and just pretend it is nothing to do with you, Ken Turner and your committee.

Well what about it?
