The SSML Division 2 Cup Final has been postponed due to a very waterlogged pitch.

You should see the water on the pitch and you would not be making silly comments. Did you not see how much rain there has been over the last 24 hours.

So we should ruin our pitch for weeks so an SSML final can take place.

The '6 hours before KO' comment is ridiculous.

Even if the puddles go, playing on a pitch that saturated would ruin it for the rest of the season. Greater good. One game for 4 or 5 games.

I stand by what I said though, could've should've been called off yday. If a storm with a name is predicted and at 4pm yday was present then all factors should've been taken into consideration and called off yday afternoon.

I would say the game was called off early, normally a game cannot be called off until after 1000 am and by the match referee. We did a pitch inspection early and advised the league and the referee. Cannot call a game off the day before because you do not know how the weather could have turned. So the league rules were followed. So what do we do break the league rules and annoy everyone by called off a day earlier.

Levy called the game off correctly.

Levy called the game off correctly.

I don't think anyone, especially me, is blaming Levy or groundsman or clubs or refs.

I'm not even sure I'm blaming the league. All I am saying is, at 3pm/4pm yesterday afternoon, you didn't need to work for the met office work out that it was going to be pi££ing it down all evening and night and winds expected up to 80mph. The days of Micheal Fish saying no storm and then there being the worst storm in history are long gone!

At some point commen sense must be allowed during these decision making meetings.

A phone call between Levy, a league rep, Totts and Leys yesterday afternoon could've taken place "pitch looks wet at the moment, lots of rain and wind expected tonight and tomorrow am, shall we call it off now so everyone can enjoy the weekend with their families and friends?"

One of the 4 says no then an inspection takes place as per usual.
