Why apply for promotion when you know you are situated on a border between 2 leagues?

There was always a chance they would be in Isthmian North and they don't have a great deal of travelling for away games anyway if you look at the step 4 map.

If they were in the Southern Central they would have trips as far as Moneyfields which is near Portsmouth.

If they don't go up then I hope Hertford Town go up.  Would be a credit to that league.

It is amazing really. They are really moaning on twitter. As Berko Fan says, why apply.

Might as well give it to Hertford as they would grasp it with both hands.

If you can't swim with the big boys then don't apply.

Jesus, what happens if they have a great season and get promoted to the Premier of either the Ryman or Southern.

Have always had my doubts over whether they would accept promotion.

The future of the club is mentioned as the reason on the clubs official twitter. Sounds like either refusing promotion or not increasing the budget. It's a shame that the clubs ambitions are not as high as the players. Such a difficult league to win.

When is Step 4 and 5 finalised by the FA?

Steps 1-4 have already been issued - Sunday 14th May. (Clubs had two weeks to appeal to the FA)

Steps 5 and 6 are released by the FA after 3.00pm today (Note the term after, these may not be issued until next week)

15/16 Hellenic champions Flackwell Heath declined promotion to the Southern league South & west division, An absurd placement by the FA and not many people disagreed with Flackwells decision. If these rumours about LC turn out to be true just what was the point of applying for promotion, If they start next season in the SSM prem i think there should be a points deduction. But at this moment in time they are just rumours.

Yes but if they do that and you do not have the ground grading you will automatically be relegated, so what is the point. The system should be this;

Promoted on the current ground grading, giving the club a year to make the improvements.

No more applying for promotion to the FA.

Clubs who win their league then get their ground assessed so they know what to do.

This is too simple for the FA.

So time and money for everyone. It is about time the FA knew what they are managing.
