Brightlingsea Regent v Enfield Town

Recommended Posts

After being dumped out of the FA Cup 4-1 at Hanwell Town last weekend, and drawing 1-1 at home to Coggeshall Town in the Tolleshust D'Arcy Memorial Cup on Tuesday evening, Regent host Town this afternoon in the Bostik League Premier Division.

Newly promoted Regent will be looking to put their cup disappointment behind them, and will provide stiff opposition for Town, having beaten Hendon 2-1, and narrowly lost to Leiston 1-2, at home.

Fingers crossed Andy and the lads will put in a shift, and extend their winning run this afternoon on the Essex coast.

Good luck everyone!

A disappointing outcome for everyone, particularly for all those Towners who travelled over to the Essex coast today. Shame we conceded in the last ten minutes to what sounds like a very good strike.

Be very interested to hear peoples thoughts on our overall performance today and the result.

A bit of news on next weeks FA Cup opponents Hanwell Town. They travelled to Aylesbury United today for a League fixture and were beaten 1-0, leaving them still bottom of the table.
Think it is going to be a very hard game next Saturday, and we are going to need to be up for it, if we are to progress!

First half quite frankly DREADFUL Sunday league hoofing long balls forward... impressed with Ryan Blake again quick and try's to make things happen .. second half a lot more compact... Sam youngs again standing out and a lot more width... probably the most likely to score but undone by an excellent strike.....all in all two very moderate sides that won't be threatening the play offs.... would like to see Livings back to protect the defence and a proper quick wide man... drew Roberts is just wasted out wide left.....and a captain who can galvanise a team ... why is Simon Thomas captain ? anyone at the game tell me what the manager sees that a hundred Towners can't .....

Sadly todays first half performance was poor.

We looked a bit more balanced and were the better side when simon equalised in the second half but were beaten by a sensational volley that deserved to win any game.

Nice people and a very friendly club.

On a very sour note the personal abuse given to simon in the first half by one of our ultras was imo disgraceful and made me embarrassed to be a towner.

You know who you are just cut it out.

Was a board member around who could have told the guy to cut it out?
