Karen Browne 575
Password was sent to all club secretaries at start of season. It is not available openly. Send me a private message listing who you are and why you require it and I can forward your request on to league secretary
Uncle T 108
Why does a handbook need a password? What happens if the secretary is not available or match needs clarification. deans23
Karen Browne 575
Data Protection I am led to believe. For any further information contact Bob Flight
Whitley Bay 86
Why does a handbook need a password? What happens if the secretary is not available or match needs clarification. I'm told referees also have the password for 'match clarification', etc.
petethegreek 231
I'm told referees also have the password for 'match clarification', etc. We do.
Uncle T 108
Then in that case there should be two books. One for contacts and one for the rules etc. deans23
Rhodes 222
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, no doubt Enfield Til It Died will be on later to complain however I was wondering whether the position remains the same with the League Handbook for this season and it still needs a password to access on-line, I haven't checked properly however some handbooks from previous campaigns are readily accessible, such as 2016/17 for example. Uncle T made a valid point in that if there is a Data Protection issue then there should be two books, one for contacts and one for rules: http://myepublish.net/apoverlag/catalogues/AL/AL_1611/pdf/Spartan South Midlands Football League.pdf
Rhodes 222
Whilst we are on the subject of handbooks, I would very much like to get my hands on a copy of the 1997/98 one, the first season that the League came into being following the amalgamation of the Spartan League and South Midlands League. It must have been a weighty tome as the League that season consisted of 75 Club's divided into five divisions, Premier Division North, Premier Division South, Senior Division, Division One North and Division One South: http://fchd.info/lghist/ssml1998.htm
View from the Boundary 5
On the related theme of rules, what is the position on bans following a red card? Is it served immediately, as always used to be the case in the PL/FL, or is there a period of purdah? Maybe while an appeal is considered? I ask as I'm sure recently a player was dismissed on the Saturday yet played on the Tuesday, struck me as odd is all. Can anyone enlighten a mere mortal sans handbook access privileges? For suspensions in the Spartan South Midlands FL, bans kick in 7 days after the offense. View from the Boundary
Rhodes 222
Does the Handbook still only cater for drivers where giving directions to grounds is concerned, this was raised previously on a thread and I located the useful links below at the time although obviously a number of those Club's have now left the League. The author of the Handbook should realise that not everybody has a car and drives to games, I can certainly think of one Assistant Referee who doesn't: http://www.andyofkent.exofire.net/gtf/5ssml.html http://www.andyofkent.exofire.net/gtf/6ssml1.html

Rhodes 222
Just now, petethegreek said: I'm sure that Assistant Referee manages to find his way to the venues without too much trouble. Well that's not surprising is it seeing as you are always handed the same old venues week in week out, no wonder you begged to go to Kings Langley last season for a Division Two fixture and paid for it out of your own pocket

Rhodes 222
The FA used to publish a Competitions Directory which was quite comprehensive, I don't know whether they still do, it included all the SSML Club's: https://fliphtml5.com/tyrr/jvcn/basic/51-
Rhodes 222
The Essex Senior League Handbook for 2019/20, I see Roger Merton is still Chairman at Hoddesdon Town, it was always wonderful to go to Lowfield and see him 'holding Court': https://essexseniorleague.co.uk/storage/2018/04/ESL-Handbook-Final-2019-20.pdf Edited November 9, 2020 by Rhodes
