Greatest cup shock ever?

Wimbledon putting Burnley out of the FA Cup 3rd round in 1974. That was the first time a non-league side beat a 1st division side.

Followed that by holding Leeds to a 0-0 draw in the 4th round at Elland Road, but lost the replay - which was, ironically, played at Selhurst Park not Plough Lane.

Not so much a massive shock, as Wimbledon FC were near the bottom of the old div 3 at the time (when there were four!) and Enfield were in the Conference, but I was happy when Enfield turned them over 4-1. Very pleasing seeing Beasant concede that many. <img src="/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Hey sorry this one is a bit late. I suppose that i'm a glory-hunter because i support a middleing non-league team that i didn't even now about Coventry etc when i started supporting the team i was 8.

BTW The brownies uniform looks nicer than our kit.

The greatest cup shock of last season was Sutton 5 Eastleigh 1. Shocking because Sutton won

No, Wimbledon were still in the Southern League, and it was 1975 and it was AWAY at Turf Moor. I think Burnley were 4th in the 1st division at the time.

And to hold the champions and European Cup finalists Leeds United 0-0 AT ELLAND ROAD in the next round has got to be one of the greatest achievements of any non-league club.

As far as I can remember all of the other famous non-league/lower league giant-killings were home games (i.e. Sutton, Hereford, Wrexham etc.)

Not forgetting Dickie Guy saving a penalty from 'hot shot' Lorimer.
