A brief mention of this one on the excellent London Football Guide website this week, it may put an extra one or two on the gate:

Middlesex Charity Cup First Round
Rayners Lane v Cockfosters @745pm - there's nothing particularly exciting about this one other than it's between the two stations at either end of the Piccadilly Line

I wonder whether any games might be 'in danger' this evening with the deluge we have had so far today, Karen will no doubt keep us reliably informed

Another impressive win for Tring Athletic last night, will there be any stopping them this season:

This was somewhat of a shock last night wasn't it with St Panteleimon only winning 2-0 against Amersham Town who haven't exactly been pulling up trees so far this term:

Glenda - Yes, that's true and it was a great win at Tring Athletic on the first day of the campaign however the Cow Lane Club are knocking in goals for fun so far this season whereas Colney Heath have only netted 14 in the league, only 9 before Tuesday's 5-0 trouncing of Broadfields United, Tring have already hit the net 30 times in the league so my money is on them come the end of April.

I see that you are on the Harpenden Town v Leverstock Green game on Saturday, that's a bit of a trek for you to Rothamsted Park

Yes it is but it helps that Harpenden Railway Station is very close to the venue.

So you are going by train to Harpenden then, why were you not allocated a game at either Oxhey Jets or Harefield United as that's closer for you to travel

I go where I am sent.

It is actually quicker to get to Harpenden than it is to either Oxhey Jets or Harefield United even though Harpenden is further away from me.

I don't disagree that it is possibly slightly quicker to get to Harpenden from where you live than it is to Oxhey Jets and Harefireld United but what about expenses wise, a day return train ticket from St Pancras to Harpenden is quite pricey whereas you can take the tube to both Oxhey and Harefield using your oyster card so you would claim very little.

Match Officials get the same expenses so it doesn't matter if its one mile or one hundred miles

This is correct.

All match officials get zero expenses.

Home to Oxhey Jets - £8.00

Home to Harefield United - £9.20

Home to Harpenden - £15.90
