As we know the 2020/21 SSML season has been unceremoniously 'curtailed' as was officially announced by the FA last week that 'Steps 3-6 will be curtailed' although, in the case of the Bedfordshire County League, it has been declared null and void with no promotion or relegation taking place. The League are preparing to run end of season supplementary cup competitions across all its five divisions, these will commence on Saturday 10 April and run until Mid-May. That includes Division One 'A' where Arlesey Town Under 23's inaugural campaign came to an abrupt conclusion after six League fixtures when sitting in fifth place in the table just two points behind the leaders Lea Sports PSG. The two sides had locked horns on Saturday 5 December at the Baldock Arena and it was Lea Sports PSG who narrowly came out on top, winning 3-2 in a thrilling contest with Jack Ellwood and Jack Allen scoring. The Under 23's last outing was a week later, on 12 December, when winning 6-2 at AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves with Luke Revells netting a hat trick. Arlesey Town's First team meanwhile were last in SSML Premier Division action on 19 December, losing 2-0 at the Brache to Crawley Green (see photographs), a week earlier Chico Ramos's men had gone down 2-1 to Harpenden Town at Rothamsted Park (see highlights), that was their first fixture for over five weeks due to the lockdown period when tamely losing 4-0 at Hitchin Road to high flying Eynesbury Rovers on Tuesday 3 November:

An interesting programme from an Arlesey Town v then Conference Champions Stevenage Borough in a 1996/97 FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie at the old Lamb Meadow ground on Saturday 14 September 1996 in front of 1,564. Stevenage Borough won 3-0 when Conference Club's still controversially entered the competition at the First Qualifying Round stage (see link), Stevenage Borough reached the Third Round proper that season losing 2-0 to Birmingham City at St Andrews. Also see an amusing link detailing past Stevenage Borough v Arlesey Town encounters, I believe the Club's last met in a pre-season friendly at Hitchin Road on Wednesday 9 July 2014 with League Two Stevenage winning 3-0 when Arlesey Town were still in the Southern League Premier Division (see report):

A team sheet from then Isthmian League Division Three  Arlesey Town v Caddington in a 2000/01 Bedfordshire FA Senior Cup First Round tie, at Hitchin Road on Tuesday 3 October 2000, I see Dave Kitson was playing the season before he was snapped up by Cambridge United and the rest is history. Also is that the SSML's Referee Liaison Officer running the line:

Arlesey Town Under 23's lock horns with Eaton Park Rangers, Flitwick Town Reserves and Ickwell & Old Warden in Division One Group 2A of the Bedfordshire County League supplementary cup competition, dates for the three group fixtures have yet to be confirmed. Arlesey Town Under 23's should have nothing to fear from their three opponents however Eaton Park Rangers will be favourites to top the group on the strength of their five Division One 'A' wins from seven outings prior to the halt in play shortly before Christmas, Arlesey Town Under 23's however had yet to face them or Ickwell & Old Warden who were also bedfellows in Division One 'A'. Flitwick Town Reserves hadn't exactly been pulling up trees in Division One 'B' when the curtain came down however they were no slouches either and had won three of their six League outings:

Surprising news coming out of Hitchin Road today that Arlesey Town Chairman John Morrell has walked away from the Club after five years in control, having arrived in May 2016. Equally surprising is the news that Dave Kitson, now 41, will take over the running of the Club on an interim basis so there will be some interesting times ahead:

Do we think Chico Ramos's job is safe now the Chairman, John Morrell, who brought him to Hitchin Road has left the Club and Dave Kitson has taken the reins albeit in an interim capacity.

Over eighty photographs, and match report, from a 2015/16 Southern League Division One Central fixture between Arlesey Town and Aylesbury FC, at Hitchin Road on Saturday 15 August 2015, Aylesbury FC won 2-0 with Arlesey Town struggling to come to terms with life back in Division One Central, having been relegated from the Premier Division the season before, and finished 16th in the table. Following a 15th place finish the following 2016/17 season the Club were relegated to the SSML in 2017/18 finishing bottom of the Southern League Division One Central with just fourteen points:

Over 100 photographs from a friendly fixture, behind closed doors, between Cheshunt and Arlesey Town, played at Cheshunt's state of the art 3G training surface on Saturday 24 April 2021. Arlesey Town were just 'cannon fodder' on the day and went down 3-0 however it was good experience for Chico Ramos's men against Step 3 opposition:

It looks like Dave Kitson is keeping faith with Chico Ramos and his Management team which is good news, I gather Chico is a really popular figure at Hitchin Road and well contacted in the game as he proved when bringing 'magician' Herclano Carvalho to the Club:
