Just to expand on Winslow Boy's post a little.

Thiago died in a road accident while on his way to Rayners Lane to play for St Panteleimon in their MPC tie v Cockfosters Reserves.

News of the accident reached those at the ground with fifteen minutes of the game left, with St Panteleimon leading 2-0.

The game was immediately abandoned, with the full agreement of everyone there.

The Middlesex FA will decide what happens with the tie, but I would hope that Cockfosters do the right thing and allow St Panteleimon to progress without further ado.

A dreadfully sad evening for London football.

That’s just awful. Cannot imagine what his friends and family are going through. I hope everyone and the club get all the support they need however they need it.

Very sad.

Hope the club go on to win the league for Thiago Gonçalves.

There's a tribute to the great man on another Forum:

Thiago Concalves, a 32 year old St Panteleimon FC player was sadly killed in a road accident last night on his way to his clubs match against Cockfosters Reserves.
I had seen him play only a few weeks ago, and he was one of many of his team who looked class players.
Condolences to his family, friends and to his colleagues at St Panteleimon FC. RIP.
