hehe so Gravesend are going up, despite their capacious ground looking like something out of the 50's. Canvey (millionaires club) don't have a ground suitable for the Ryman prem let alone the conference, but at least them and us are still in the trophy. Poor old Gazza and Chesham Steve thought Braintree were fluking a good start, they will shortly be shelling out a tenner apiece to yours truly - good on ya fellas. hehe.

I wouldn't be to despondant if I were Gazza having to hand over £10 to SteveP Every season there are two "flash in the pan sides" - last seasdon Basingstoke and Heybridge - this season Grays and Braintree. Braintree rely over heavily on Simpson and Reinelt for goals (as Heybridge did with Lee and Parker) when either of those players decides to leave / gets a long term injury then you'll sink back down the table (as did Heybridge this season) Enjoy it while you can!

Yeah Vic, sorry to have inform u no monies coming your way mate. well earlier on in the season, Gazza suggested Braintree were pretenders to a top 5 position compared to his beloved Riccay so a tenner was placed between us. SteveP (bless him)fancied Chesham Utd to end up higher than both Iron and Riccay so a three way tenner wager it became. Well seeing the dearth of postings of late and me in a crowing mood after yesterdays 3 points over Chesham, i felt like stirring it a bit. Of course i recognise there's afair few whistles to be blown between now and seasons end. Canvey are a brilliant team, but something controversial needed to be posted to get people posting again.

Wait til next season when your team of has beens (do you really think that Parratt, Water, Culverhouse, Davidson and all the rest are going to repeat this season's flashing (oooerr)?) Yep roll on next season Gazza, thats what one says when the present is not worth a light isn't it? We say roll on Margate and then Morecambe perhaps and possibly 3rd place to. I see our reserves were too good for Gt Wakering Rovers when they collected the Essex senior trophy last week, Rovers have been impressive this season i understand. plenty of young talent in the reserves coming through the nursery for future seasons. Theres also always plenty of players from other clubs coming available come seasons end. Then We have a tried and trusted successful manager and board here at Braintree so yep, we'll look forward to next season once we get to the end of the present once.<p>Meantime weve got heaps of exciting things going on at Cressing Road,you are most welcome to pop up sometime but please remember your wallet.<p>[ 27 February 2002: This message was edited by: Iron knob ]</p>
