Savagebee - I really like Mani Asare and Shaun Reece's style, their hearts are very much in it and they don't do things by halves, they live for the beautiful game and know their onions. They also have a very supportive Chairman at Enfield Borough, Marvin Walker, who co-founded the Club along with Aaron Archer about four years ago, they also both co-managed them in their first two seasons in the SSML Division Two and Division One before bringing in Shaun Reece and Roy Bleau for the start of last season. Mani Asare joined later after Bleau left, he was the guy who incredibly took Broxbourne Borough Under 18's to the FA Youth Cup last sixteen in 2017 only losing at Villa Park. The Club have their own YouTube channel with some great stuff on there:

Savagebee - I see that Enfield Borough had nine teenagers in their starting line up against Milton Keynes Robins on Tuesday and the average age of the team was about eighteen and a half, Mani Asare and Shaun Reece pride themselves on giving youth an opportunity:

Wasn't this a very odd state of affairs at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, has anything similar ever happened before or after whereby a Club (Enfield Borough) were not affiliated to their FA before starting a season and playing its first match, in this case Enfield Borough v Harefield United in Division One on Saturday 5 August 2017 which Enfield Borough won 2-1 however the game was replayed later in the season, on 17 February 2018, ending in a 1-1 stalemate. What I couldn't work out was that Enfield Borough only joined the SSML the previous season, 2016/17, in Division Two and were promoted when finishing third, was it simply a case of just forgetting to renew their affiliation to the Middlesex FA for the following season:

MIDDLESEX COUNTY INFORMS LEAGUE THAT ENFIELD BOROUGH WERE NOT AFFILIATED AT THE TIME THEY PLAYED HAREFIELD UTD ON OPENING DAY !!

Notice has been given that Enfield Borough were not affiliated in time to play their game against Harefield Utd.

That should mean the result will not stand. We are waiting to hear what will be done officially by both County and the league. But as the rules state the game should not have been played

Watch this space.

Don't know what the Competition Rules were at the time but at Grassroots level you would have forfeited the match.

How does the Competition even allow a Club to play without checking they are affiliated first? Less likely to happen now as affiliation is completed through the WGS.

It happens higher up as well.

I can't type here which Clubs it has happened to and a blind eye was turned. ?

Enfield Borough Assistant boss Mani Asare wasn't best pleased with his side's first game in the SSML Division One on Saturday (26 September) against Bedford (match programme at link) at Summers Lane but put the heavy 5-2 defeat down to losing four key players from the side that impressively beat Tower Hamlets 3-2 in the FA Vase First Qualifying Round last week. Mani and Shaun Reece will be hoping for better things tomorrow (Tuesday) evening when Amersham Town come calling, the Spratley's Meadow Club have started their own League campaign in disappointing fashion following an extensive pre-season where they played a dozen games and also tamely exited the FA Vase last Saturday to Cogenhoe United:
