on Saturday (24 October) they entertain Totternhoe

Somewhat surprisingly Buckingham United dropped two points to Totternhoe on Saturday, at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre, following consecutive wins over Sarratt and Berkhamsted Raiders under new boss John Walton's stewardship, however that only tells half the story as they found themselves 2-0 down at the interval to the Dunstable Road Club following goals on 22 and 37 minutes, the first a clinically converted spot kick by Lala Dem that gave keeper Harry White no chance. John Walton must have given his troops a dressing down during the break as within two minutes of the restart Nick Walton had pulled a goal back with a good header following a free kick and then proceeded to level on 72 minutes when awarded a disputed penalty which Matt Ginger netted, they could and should have taken all three points in the end but a draw was perhaps a fair result on a dreadful afternoon weatherwise. The Reserve side travelled to top of the table Willen FC for a North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division fixture and Joe Cooper's men were well beaten 7-2 with their goals coming from Paul Dearlove and Patrick Field, their third consecutive League defeat. This Saturday (31 October) they go to Premier Division side City Colts for a daunting Interdivisional Trophy First Round tie, kick off 1.30pm, whilst the First team entertain Aston Clinton, kick off 2.00, I gather the Clubhouse at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre will sadly be closed due to Covid-19 however programmes and enamel badges will still be available to purchase:

Buckingham United have launched an impressive on-line Club Shop, in partnership with a company called Sporting Touch, with some great looking merchandise that will no doubt fly off the shelves ahead of Christmas:

Not the SSML, or the North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division for that matter, but over 200 photographs, courtesy of Sports Shots, of FC MMIX v Buckingham United (Sunday) 'B' on Sunday 13 December in a Milton Keynes Sunday League (MKSL) Division Three fixture at a very muddy Abbey Road in Bradwell Village, adjacent to Old Bradwell United's pitch. High flying FC MMIX won the game 7-2 with Matthew Burch and Jack Powell netting for the visitors:

The pitch got obliterated, shouldn’t have been played.

Munchkin - Do Old Bradwell United use that same pitch then where the game was being played, it didn't appear so, I can see your team van in the background, is that used to take the players to all away games although I assume that some drive.

Over 100 photographs, courtesy of Sports Shots, from Buckingham United v Clean Slate Reserves in a 2018/19  North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division fixture, at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre on Saturday 20 October 2018, Buckingham United won 10-0 with Ricky McAdam scoring a hat trick. The following season the Club joined, or rather re-joined, the SSML having originally been founder members of the League back in 1997/98 however unfortunately resigned from Division One North mid season and their record was expunged:

Interesting news coming out of the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre today in that Buckingham United are introducing an Under 21's side for next season and they will ply their trade in the Oxfordshire Youth League:

Buckingham United are to start an under 21 side for the 2021/22 season

United have entered a side the Oxfordshire Youth Football League. The club said on their social media outlets:

Due to demand we are delighted to confirm we will be launching a new Under 21s team for the forthcoming season.
Open training sessions will begin towards the end of the season with dates to be confirmed.
Fixtures take place on Sunday afternoons, 2pm.
This is a perfect opportunity for players who may feel they are not quite ready to jump into senior football yet to carry on playing, rather than walking away from the game.

I'm quite surprised that nobody has beaten me to the punch as at a meeting last night the North Bucks & District League announced that their Club's had overwhelmingly voted to conclude the 2020/21 season by continuing during April and May until each team had played each other the once. There has been a lot of criticism of the decision however surely that is far better than a 'pointless' supplementary cup competition, the North Bucks & District League hierarchy must feel that they can't win. Buckingham United Reserves can now look forward to 'completing' their Intermediate Division campaign having last seen action on Saturday 12 December when drawing 4-4 at basement Club Hanslope Reserves in a pulsating contest with Mark Basta, Matthew Burch, Jonny Moodie and Andrew Toy netting, the week prior to that they had gone down 4-0 to Grendon Rangers at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre. Watch this space for further details on the conclusion of Buckingham United Reserves North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division season:

POS   P W D L GD PTS
1 Milton Keynes Irish Athletic 9 7 0 2 25 21
2 Grendon Rangers 8 6 1 1 13 19
3 Willen First 8 6 0 2 20 18
4 Mursley United Development 9 6 0 3 2 18
5 Twyford United First 8 4 1 3 6 13

Buckingham United Reserves will entertain Twyford United on Saturday 17 April when they resume their North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division campaign, just over four months to the day since drawing 4-4 at Hanslope Reserves in their last outing on Saturday 12 December thanks to a last minute equalising goal, Mark Basta, Matthew Burch, Jonny Moodie and Andrew Toy were the scorers. Unfortunately the fixture at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre will be behind closed doors, kick off 3.00pm.

Great news!! Buckingham United FC are running a trial session for their current youth set up. The club have said:

Apparently they are dishing out a few quid and have signed some good local players.

You have to hand it to Sean Devine don't you and his connections, how has he managed to pull this one off:

How on earth have Buckingham United managed to keep him at the Lace Hill Sports and Community Centre:

It's sad to see both Buckingham United and Buckingham Athletic in such difficult circumstances at the present time but no surprise, perhaps a merger of the two Club's will be a good solution:
