Langford Reserves were involved in a thrilling Second Round tie with Division One 'B' side Ampthill Town Development at Forde Park, losing 4-3 with goals from Neil Blyth and a brace from Robbie Wilcock

It is understood that the Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Challenge Cup competition, for Bedfordshire County League Club's at Division One level, will proceed next month (see link). Unfortunately however, Division One 'A' new boys Langford Reserves were defeated 4-3 by Division One 'B' Ampthill Town Development at Forde Park on Saturday 26 September in a Second Round tie, having received a First Round bye:

Unfortunately it looks like there are serious problems at Forde Park at present:

Announcement:

The First team Management

and Reserve team Management

along with 9 (out of 15) Committee members, have stepped down from the Langford FC with immediate effect

On a brighter note for Langford, here is a photo of then Captain Brian Adams with the Hinchingbrooke Cup that he lifted in the 1972/73 season during a very successful period for the Club:

May be an image of 2 people, people standing and text that says "TWO proud soccer captains. Shefford' Jim Mooney (left) and Lang ford' Brian Adams. Shefford have won the South Midlands Cup Challenge Trophy Langford winners. Shefford beat Langford 2-0 on Monday this season's second replay. Their goals came from Duncan Harding and Rockall one in each"

'Turmoil' Club Langford remain in the SSML following the restructuring of the National League System at Steps 4-6 level, let us hope they can resolve their current internal problems at Forde Park in time for the new campaign:

Is there any news on the Management situation at Langford, have they appointment a new team as yet. I see that Matin Wells hasn't wasted any time in finding himself a new job, he has turned up at Letchworth Garden City Eagles as First Team Coach, Martin won't be very popular when he returns to Forde Park next season for the SSML Division One fixture.

I have it on good authority that Langford have just appointed a new Management team, all will be revealed shortly. The Forde Park outfit have also announced some interesting looking pre-season friendly fixtures:

The match programme line ups from Langford v Royston Town in a 1994/95 South Midlands League Premier Division fixture, at Forde Park on Saturday 26 November 1994, both Club's were founder members of the SSML three seasons later and placed in the Premier Division North however Langford finished rock bottom and were relegated to the Senior Division. I see that Tony Galvin was in the Royston Town squad, can you imagine what it must have been like that afternoon to welcome such an icon to Forde Park:

Here's a turn up for the books, former Ampthill Town supremo Robert Russell has been appointed as the new Manager of Langford, I would give my right arm to be a fly on the wall at Ampthill Park next season when Langford visit.

Langford entertained Hatfield Town on Tuesday evening (27 July) in a pre-season friendly fixture ahead of their SSML Division One opener with Ampthill Town at Ampthill Park next week however, worryingly, they went down 5-3 to the Herts Senior County League Premier Division outfit, the Cold End was in attendance:

Langford had a good 3-1 win at Eaton Socon in their final pre-season outing yesterday (Saturday) and new boss Rob Russell will be 'hell bent' on getting sweet revenge on Ampthill Town on Tuesday evening, and their Chairman Garry Maidment in particular, for the exceptionally shoddy treatment he received at Ampthill Park last year. Rob was handed the Managerial position in mid August, as successor to Ant Christophi, only for it to be unceremoniously taken away from him in early September when Mr Maidment had a change of heart and appointed Lee Hawkes instead:
