An opportunity to start a thread on Shefford Town & Campton with these photographs from a 2014/15 Bedfordshire County League Premier Division fixture with Ickwell & Old Warden, at their new Shefford Sports Club home on Saturday 24 January 2015 where they had only moved into at the start of the campaign, Ickwell & Old Warden won the game 2-1 with Shefford Town & Campton finishing fifth in the table that season:

More photographs from Shefford Town & Campton, this time shortly after the Club had moved into their impressive new Shefford Sports Club home on Hitchin Road, with a 2014/15 Bedfordshire County League Premier Division fixture against Caldecote on Saturday 20 September 2014. Shefford Town & Campton won the game 6-0, their third successive league success at the new venue having beaten Sandy 2-1 and then Flitwick Town 3-1:

It is with sadness that we announce the resignations of Granty and Checker as joint 1st team managers, as a management duo they have overseen unprecedented successes for Shefford Town and Campton over the past few seasons which has seen the club rise to the summit of the beds county league & into step 6 football. Both will continue in Committee capacities for the club in the future. Kane Dougherty, who was part of the management setup during the 2017-18 season will step into the hotseat, his management team is set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Shefford Town & Campton 'A' remain in Division Three of the Bedfordshire County League for the forthcoming campaign where they have plied their trade since the 2014/15 campaign without moving a muscle and always being around mid-table, they were promoted from Division Four in 2013/14 where they had been since 2011/12:

I see that, worryingly, there has been a steep increase in Covid-19 cases in the Shefford, Arlesey and Stotfold areas this week, I wonder if this will lead to some of Saturday's pre-season friendly fixtures being called off including any games Shefford Town & Campton's First Team, Reserve Team and 'A' Team have arranged:

https://cranfieldandmarstonvale.co.uk/covid-19/covid-19-outbreak-stotfold-arlesey-shefford/

The leader of Central Bedfordshire CouncilCllr James Jamieson is urging all residents in Stotfold, Arlesey and Shefford to follow the national Coronavirus guidance, as daily data is showing an increase in cases in this area, particularly among young people.

The finalised Constitution for the Bedfordshire County League Premier Division for the coming season, Shefford Town & Campton Reserves were promoted to the top flight following their First Team's promotion to the SSML after they had won the Premier Division Championship in 2018/19 on goal difference from Cranfield United. They had also won the Premier Division Championship in 2017/18 however I gather the Shefford Sports Club was  not deemed fit for Step Six football at that juncture:

Shefford Town & Campton Reserves started their Bedfordshire County League Premier Division campaign on Saturday 26 September with a surprise 1-0 defeat at Elstow Abbey with their home fixture against Stevington being called off on Saturday, next Saturday (10 October) they can hopefully get their first point or points on the board at Bedford Albion, kick off 2.30pm. The 'A' team meanwhile started their season with a Bedfordshire FA Junior Challenge Cup Second Round tie on 26 September at Renhold, having received a First Round bye, unfortunately losing 4-2 to their opponents who play a Division higher, Robbie Davis and Jacob Jevon scored the goals, the 'A' team have yet to start their Bedfordshire County League Division Three campaign. The Shefford Town & Campton 'B' team ply their trade in Division Four and got their season under way on Saturday (3 October) at the Shefford Sports Club, despite the weather conditions, with an exciting 4-3 win over Elstow Abbey Reserves, Lee Britton, Andrew Hayday and Charlie Robinson with a brace got the goals and they travel to the Chalk Hill Academy in Luton with confidence on Saturday (10 October) to take on Sporting Carpathians, kick off 2.30pm. The First team have already completed four SSML Division One fixtures unfortunately drawing the short straw in the first, on Saturday 19 September, when losing 5-1 at 'the mighty' New Salamis despite going in 1-1 at the break. Since that visit to Coles Park however Kane Dougherty's men have gained a creditable 1-1 draw at London Lions, a 1-0 win over Park View at the Shefford Sports Club and, to top it all, a superb 4-0 win at Ampthill Park on Saturday (3 October) which nobody was expecting, Jonathan McNamara scored a hat trick with Ryan Lewis also netting, McNamara was also on target at New Salamis, at London Lions with a penalty and against Park View so the Club have clearly unearthed a gemstone and he will be looking to get on the scoresheet again on Saturday when the First team host Langford:

Sorry folks, it's obviously a slow news time at present, not Shefford Town & Campton FC but some nice photographs of Shefford which looks like a really nice place and has a rich history (see link):

As we know the 2020/21 SSML season has been unceremoniously 'curtailed' as was officially announced by the FA last week that 'Steps 3-6 will be curtailed' although, in the case of the Bedfordshire County League, it has been declared null and void with no promotion or relegation taking place. The League are preparing to run end of season supplementary cup competitions across all its five divisions, these will commence on Saturday 10 April and run until Mid-May. That includes the Premier Division where Shefford Town & Campton Reserves campaign is at a premature conclusion after just six League fixtures played, their last outing was on Saturday 19 December when winning 3-0 at home to AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College with goals from Harry Lovely and a brace from Ryan Dobson. In addition the 'A' team and 'B' team's respective Bedfordshire County League Division Three and Division Four season's were also both halted and they will presumably be joining the Reserve team in the planned cup competitions next month. Shefford Town & Campton's First Team were very much the surprise package of the season and sat on top of the SSML Division One table prior to the cruel curtailment, they last tasted action also on 19 December when making a smash and grab raid on Tithe Farm, winning 1-0 against Rayners Lane with a goal from Jonathan McNamara. A week earlier Kane Dougherty's men beat Bedford 4-0 (pictured) at their Shefford Sports Club base with goals from Kane O'Neill, Sam Day and a brace from, who else, Jonathan McNamara, although they were aided and abetted by Bedford's Jack Mudge who stupidly saw red after just five minutes:

It is understood that the Bedfordshire FA Junior Challenge Cup competition, for Bedfordshire County League Club's below Division One, will proceed next month (see link). Unfortunately however, after both receiving a First Round bye Shefford Town & Campton 'A' and Shefford Town & Campton 'B' exited in the Second Round, the Division Three 'A' team went down 4-2 at Division Two outfit Renhold with Robbie Davis and Jacob Jevon netting and the Division Four 'B' team lost 2-1 to Crawley Green Under 23's at the Shefford Sports Club having put in a very brave showing against the Division Two side, Charlie Robinson scored the goal. The Bedfordshire FA Senior Cup and Senior Trophy were unfortunately cancelled this season hence no Cup competition for Bedfordshire County League Premier Division Clubs and Shefford Town & Campton Reserves, the Club have three sides in the League as well as the First team playing  in the SSML Division One which must cost them a pretty penny:

Shefford Town & Campton Reserves lock horns with Cranfield United, Crawley Green Reserves and Flitwick Town in Premier Division One Group 1D of the Bedfordshire County League supplementary cup competition. Dates for the six group fixtures, played home and away, have recently been released and Shefford Town & Campton Reserves first entertain Cranfield United on Saturday 10 April with a visit to Flitwick Town the following Wednesday evening, they then travel to the Crawley Green Recreation Ground on Saturday 17 April, unfortunately all games are being played behind closed doors. Shefford Town & Campton Reserves will be the outsiders to win the group and progress however some hope can certainly be gained from their last outing on Saturday 19 December, prior to the abrupt halt in the season, when beating AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College 3-0 at the Shefford Sports Club for only their second win of the campaign:

An interesting team sheet from then Shefford Town v Ashcroft Co-Op in a 1984/85 South Midlands League Premier Division fixture on Saturday 6 April 1985 when finishing third in the table having impressively won the Championship the season before following promotion from Division One as Champions in 1982/83. It was a very successful six year period in the Club's history when they also lifted both the North Bedfordshire Charity Cup and Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup in consecutive 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons:

Shefford Town & Campton must be feeling hard done by that they weren't elevated to the SSML Premier Division following the restructuring of the National League System at Steps 4-6 level, Milton Keynes Irish were elevated as well as St Panteleimon and they were both trailing in Kane Dougherty's men's wake this season when it was curtailed. At least the Club remain in the SSML and Kane will be looking forward to pitting his wits against 'newbies' Burton Park Wanderers, Irchester United, Kidlington Reserves, Letchworth Garden City Eagles, Long Crendon, Northampton Sileby Rangers, Penn & Tylers Green, Raunds Town, Rushden & Higham United, Thame Rangers and Wellingborough Whitworth next term in a totally new look Division One:

I don't know whether Karen has anything to do with photographs disappearing from the Forum, like with the former SSML Club threads, but here is the team sheet again:
