So that rules out Ampthill Park, Bell Close and The Eyrie for the Final of the competition then, as I said I cannot fathom out why any Club's should be against a live stream as it is Worldwide publicity for them too, I wonder if it's just jealousy of what Real Bedford are doing and sour grapes.

As both clubs Real Bedford and Elstow are from the Bedord area I feel the home of Kempston Rovers would be an ideal venue for the final.

Anyway first things first and tomorrow evening's tricky looking clash with Amersham Town at McMullen Park:

Absolutely monster week. A couple of wins this week would officially eliminate about half the league from title contention, though realistically, that dream is over for most now. Gonna be tough but find a way to get three points today at home and then take your chances at Rugby.

Hopefully will be at The New Eyrie and a first return visit next door for Peter McCormack since he was apparently frogmarched off the premises by the Bedford Town Chairman.

It would be nice for the fine folks at The New Eyrie to get to watch a winning club again 🤣

Will Robets seemed to suggest the Rugby game won't be streamed?

Peter has confirmed that Rugby denied their request to stream. Biggest game of the whole darn campaign and it won't be streamed. Disappointing.

Amersham Town's fair, and unbiased, version of events last night:

Real Bedford 0 Amersharm Town 0

Real Bedford are top to the Division for a reason, they are a very good side, but Amersham matched them in this entertaining draw. The difference between the approaches of the two teams added to the interest, Bedford played the ball around confidently but found it difficult to get through a resolute Amersham defence, well marshalled by centre backs Jonny O’Sullivan and Daryl Brown whereas Amersham attacked at speed and, especially in the second half, were unlucky not to score. The best chances for both teams in the first half fell in the first few minutes, a quick and accurate centre by Nick Kerley eluded the Real Bedford defence and Harry Bennett saw his header thump against the post and bar. At the other end Jordan Brown was put through on goal but dragged his shot just wide of the far post as Town keeper Ryan Lehane came out to narrow the angle. The remainder of the half consisted of half-chances for both sides but neither was able to trouble the opposing goal keeper. Matters changed in the second half, firstly Lehane had to go full stretch to palm wide a shot from Real’s Ben McGrath but that was followed by a number of Amersham attacks, usually orchestrated by Louis Bircham, while Amersham’s man of the match, Riccardo Clarke-Rowe, was a constant threat down the left. Bennett and Nick Kerley saw shots pass just too high, Bircham had a goal-bound shot deflected for a corner and Real keeper, Tyler McGregor, twice did well to tip shots over the bar. The home side, however, could have won it at the end were it not for a superb block almost on the line by full backJamie Speer. A goal then would have been a hard blow for the away side to take after such a vigorous and well contested game.

Amersham Town: Lehane, Fowler, Speer, Preedy, O’Sullivan, Brown, Clarke-Rowe,Brennan, Bennett, Bircham, Kerley. Subs: Enajar, Flanagan, Chunga, Aliu, Mejzini.

Yes, this will be the next live stream according to the Club website, it's 'criminal' that Rugby Borough have refused the live stream request isn't it however at least it will give Real Bedford more incentive to win like they did at other 'spoilsport' Club's Ampthill Town and Leighton Town Development:

Rugby Borough must be kicking themselves losing 2-1 at Northampton ON Chenecks earlier this month, it was an unexpected result however Northampton ON Chenecks are no mugs and are currently on a great run of six successive League wins since, coincidentally, losing 3-1 at McMullen Park on Tuesday 10 January.

Lets get ready to rumble then folks. It appears that Real Bedford Chairman Peter McCormack went down on bended knee to his counterpart, Brian Crinigan, at Kilsby Lane in order to livestream the fixture but to no avail:

Sadly, despite our best efforts, Rugby has rejected our request to stream the game. Hopefully, we will see some of you at the game.

Rugby have been pretty relentless.

Anu other season Real would practically have the league wrapped up by now.

A Rugby win on Sat and then winning their game in hand would put them a point behind Real with a better goal difference.

Credit to rugby. This could be well wrapped up for Bedford but they've played well all season.

Even with the head to head loss, bedford has let them back in given losses to two lowly teams in the table. Still, if Bedford can take even a point today they are sitting quite pretty down the home stretch.

No problems then, that will teach 'spoilsports' Rugby Borough a stark lesson, just as it taught Ampthill Town and Leighton Town. Here is boss Rob Sinclair's assessment of the excellent 2-0 win with two late strikes from Eddie Corbit on 84 minutes and Luke Knight from the spot on 88 minutes:

This one feels like it more or less wins Bedford the league. Gotta take care of business but taking a 6er over a team you lead this late feels good. Especially with two more very winnable home games coming this week.
