Referees want to crack on if that helps. ?

Perhaps you will be allocated New Salamis v Bedford on Saturday 5 December if we are back up and running as Edgware Town v Colney Heath, London Colney v Eynesbury Rovers, North Greenford United v Harefield United and Wembley v Leighton Town will all be postponed if the FA Vase 2nd Round goes ahead that day.

SSML Clubs will get their say on a resumption date at the forthcoming Divisional meetings next week.

To date some clubs want to re-start straight away while others want a two week period before re-starting.

Decisions will be made by the Management Committee after they have heard the club's views

Thanks for the update ?

Hope they re start ASAP as there is no time to waste this season also I'm sure we are in for some wet/cold days where games could get called off also our Supreme Leaders could want another Lockdown so the well off can put there feet up again ?

Fairly sure lockdown will be extended so this is all moot.

For once I hope you are wrong WB.

I see that the Essex Senior League aim to restart on Saturday 5 December if restrictions allow, the decision was made following a democratic process with their member Club's. If the SSML Management Committee are doing likewise then we will also resume on 5 December, there surely can't be more than two or three pernickety Club's who want a later re-start and it would  be interesting to know who they are.

Yes, that's an interesting statement from the Isthmian League isn't it:

Pitching In Isthmian season to restart on Saturday 19th December (*we hope)!

The Board of the Isthmian League met today and agreed- subject to government approval- that our football will start again on Saturday 19th December, so long as spectators are allowed to attend.

The season will also be extended- to May 22nd, with the Playoffs scheduled for the following Bank Holiday weekend.

If clubs would like to play a fixture prior to Saturday 19th, subject again to there being no government restrictions, then the League will agree so long as five days notice is given to enable match officials to be appointed.

A letter from our Chairman, Nick Robinson, has just been sent to all clubs covering these details and much more besides. Club secretaries, please check your inbox!

If our Supreme Leaders let us out of our prison cells ? on the 2nd then leagues should get on with it ASAP in my opinion because what if we have another Lockdown? (I wouldn't put it past our Supreme Leaders) or ? weather? The season might end up finishing in July or something? Which to be honest wouldn't bother me ? footy all year round and through the summer sounds good to Savagebee ?

Savagebee - Tell that to Karen, she seems all in favour of a later start such as 12 or 19 December, I don't know why as all the fixtures she set for 5 December are nicely in place

The FA have written to all Step 5 and Step 6 Leagues ahead of the next meeting on Thursday 26 November, at least it is a little bit more informative and clear this time from the blazers which makes a change:

There would have to be a Rule change for that to happen as it would overlap the following season.

My guess is that end of May would be the cut off point to complete the fixtures.

Lets start the clock then, so far it doesn't appear there is going to be an extension to the lockdown beyond Wednesday 2 December thank goodness:

There really is a stink at present, to put it mildly, about the distribution of National Lottery bailout funding for the National League Club's

I see that former FA Chairman David Bernstein has spoken out over the National League bailout money and has condemned the handling of the whole sorry affair particularly the setting up in November of an Independent Review Panel to look into the allocation of the £10 million of National Lottery funding, rightly calling it 'pointless':

I think Tier 5 would definitely put the kibosh on the 2020/21 campaign:

Britain records 41,385 Covid cases and 357 more deaths as second wave continues to grow | Daily Mail Online

Britain could be put into 'Tier 5' restrictions, it has been claimed, with England's hospitals are now treating more Covid patients than they ever did in the first wave.

NHS England data shows 20,426 hospital beds were occupied by patients who had tested positive for coronavirus as of 8am this morning, up from around 17,700 exactly a week ago.

Scientists have now advised Boris Johnson to implement measures stronger than those imposed in November, including the closure of secondary schools, pubs and non-essential shops.

Though it is unclear if the new measures will be called 'Tier 5', SAGE is thought to have told the Prime Minister they must be tougher than the current Tier 4 restrictions.

Experts today warned the number of Covid patients in NHS hospitals on England was 'on course to exceed the first wave in the next few days and, possibly, top 20,000 on New Year's Eve'.

But the official figures show the grim milestone has been met three days ahead of expectations. Top officials say a highly infectious strain spreading rapidly across the country is to blame for piling extra pressure on hospitals which Public Health England bosses warn are 'at their most vulnerable'.

For comparison, April 12 was the busiest day of the first wave for hospitals in England, when 18,974 infected patients were occupying beds.

The crisis has already hit one hospital, with a Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust spokesperson saying today: 'We declared an internal incident at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) on Sunday 27 December as a precautionary step due to the high number of Covid-positive patients we are seeing at the hospital.'

It comes as Britain today recorded 41,385 cases of Covid, in the largest one-day increase since the pandemic began.

But it is impossible to compare infection figures in the second wave against the first because of a lack of testing in the spring.

The effects of Tier Four, which came into force last week for 16million people across London, the South East and the East, should start to be seen within the next few days, with cases likely to drop sharply in areas plunged into the harshest restrictions.

And some infectious disease experts fear cases will start to rise as a result of the Christmas break on coronavirus restrictions, which allowed millions to spend the day with loved ones they don't live with.

Department of Health bosses also recorded 357 more Covid deaths today. However, fatality tolls on Mondays and bank holidays are always affected by a recording lag, meaning the daily counts will inevitably spike later in the week.

Bumbling Boris wont call it for what it is, another lockdown.

This Tier nonsense is just playing with words.

I doubt if any football at Grassroots level is played in January.

Obviously yesterday's announcement by the Prime Minister has caused a stir on another Forum and the 'Provisional Resumption Dates' thread, here's one of the suggestions, if you can call it that:

Provisional resumption dates | Page 22 | NonLeagueMatters Forums

Ok lets try and be optimistic! It would mean all steps 3-6 scrapping what's happened so far, and new set of fixtures seeing everyone play each other once. If things have improved by end of February, there could be a two week window for training/friendlies and then start with new fixtures on March 13th running through to May 22nd. This gives 11 Saturdays and 10 midweeks, a total of 21 fixture days which would cover most leagues. Then from Monday 24th May to 31st May any play-offs could be settled. Of course this doesn't into account clubs involved in Trophy and Vase (so some clubs may end up playing Tuesday and Thursday in some cases). County Cups and League Cups would have to go. All leagues would have to agree for consistency across the country for the FA restructuring to happen. Feel free to pull apart!
