West Essex aren't going to be pushovers this evening and took care of Crawley Green in the last round who are obviously a step higher in the Pyramid however what New Salamis lack in matching West Essex's ability they will make up in passion, commitment and a never say die attitude on the pitch which was always instilled into them by George Georgiou, it's such a crying shame the great man is not still part of the Club to enjoy the fruits of what he created:

Much needed money lost for the club there.

Kyri Portou completed his hat trick four minutes into stoppage time before the interval however West Essex have pulled a goal back, hopefully it's too little too late:

Yes, look at the empty spaces in the ground, it's 'criminal' isn't it:

Yep.

Nothing seems to have been said about certain massive protest marches that have happend over the last 3 or 4 months (When Covid-19 deaths were much higher) ? or the packed beaches over the summer ? but if it's non league then lets just shut it down or place lots of restrictions on it no questions asked.

Listened to live commentary of the game. Winslow weren’t in it at all in the second half, will be interested to hear thoughts of those that were there as to why we didn’t reappear after half time.

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Rothamsted Park yesterday:

FA Cup Preliminary Round
Harpenden Town 0 - 3 Aveley (HT 0 - 2)
Spartan South Midlands Premier League (step 5) v Isthmian 1 North (step 4)
Rothamsted Park, Amenbury Lane, AL5
Attendance 300 officially, as tickets were ALL sold out, however my approximate HC was nearer 250...and 2 dogs.
Admission £6/3, with a 50 pence booking fee on each ticket.
Programme £2

Harpenden is effectively a commuter belt town on the A1081 between St Albans and Luton, albeit a very nice one. The town is currently extending it's swimming pool complex in to a full leisure centre, the building works being slightly delayed by the Covid Lockdown... there is a Pay and Display council car on Amenbury Lane, and the access road to the football ground is in the far corner. I had the 16 year old nephew with me, and as he lives in the town, I parked up at his house.
Temperature check on arrival, and a single turnstile with a new looking shed attached. I was very happy to see a printed programme available. The club had arranged for a craft beer bar and a burger van to be sited at the entrance, there was also an extra outside cubicle portaloo...which I didnt use.
Walking in to the ground, a small temporary scaffold providing shelter is very near to the entrance. Further along the touchline at the half way point is the Main stand, with 4 rows of plain benches. We carried on walking down towards the far goal, the pitch has a railing, but no mesh, so be prepared to act as an honourary ball boy... The ground is entirely surrounded by hedging/brambles/trees....at least 3 balls were lost over the top of the trees in to the main park next door, during the game.
Harpenden were basically outplayed throughout the game. Very few shots for Harpenden in the first half, and Aveley pushing forward, with a rather good number 9, whom I think did score one of the goals. Harpenden upped their game in the second half, but it still wasn't enough, Aveley showed their class, and also had 2 disallowed goals. Overall an enjoyable game in the glorious sunshine.

Winslow Boy - Yes, it sounds like you could have been in the First Qualifying Round draw later today:

Should have had it won by half time but then never really got going in second half. Few of the more experienced guys missing and it probably played a part, Risboro are a good team though, will be another tight affair on Saturday in the vase.

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this tie, disappointing for Biggleswade United however it was a tough draw for them, also disappointing that Nacho Novo was nowhere to be seen:

Cambridge City 4 Biggleswade United 0
FA Cup Preliminary Round at Histon FC
One of the most comfortable FA Cup days I've ever seen watching Cambridge City. With a long history of being the giant-killed, City avoided any upsets with a very dominant performance over Biggleswade. Sharman scored early on and City were soon 2-0 up through Olukanmi. United gain a foothold in the game towards half time and looked like they might have a chance before Ingrey's goal just before the break ended the game as a contest. Sharman scored late on to make it 4-0.
A decent crowed of 293, my ticket bought in advance but you could pay on the day. A fair sprinkling of visiting fans plus a few neutrals hoping to see ex-Ranger Nacho Novo but he wasn't in the ground. City are issuing a full glossy prog this season at £2. Reasonable attention to the Covid restrictions by most supporters, the biggest issue being the narrowness of the pathway along the front of the original part of the stand at Bridge Road that leads to the tea bar.
